This year has started with some tumultuous energy. I don’t think it’s just me, it seems to be on the world stage as well. I’m trying to gather my bearings and figure out what it all means for me, but it is challenging.

Time goes by in 9 year cycles. This New Year reflection isn’t just looking back at the last 1 year, it’s the last 9!

It started 2017 (2+1+7=10=1) which was year 1 to 2025 (2+2+5=9), year 9. Now that we’re in 2026 (2+2+6=10=1) it resets back to 1.

This last 9 year cycle was an era of massive changes and growth. My life looked perfect from the outside but what was awakening within me would set my outer world on fire.

9 years later I can’t help but feel that there are big changes coming again. But I wonder if what saved me also stunted me? The middle of the last nine year cycle was 2020–2023. Covid was happening on the world stage and I was divorcing.

I was so grateful to be able to find refuge and safety for myself and my 3 little girls in the midst of the wild. We were alone in a little house in the mountains with wild animals all around yet I have never felt more safe and connected to God. I will treasure those times forever!

However now that we have spent the last couple years re-integrating into the world it feels like I am discovering it for the first time. I am changed and new, it is strange and new.

I have healed many things and let go of so much that needed to be let go of. My kids are older, our lives have changed drastically and so have our needs.

Everything I learned from the last cycle has helped me learn how to navigate and meet my own needs but now I need to step into understanding the needs of others more.

We are not meant to hide from the world forever. We are social creatures by nature and have purpose in our connections, even when it feels scary.

Having an ALL juice day is the best way to de-bloat after these big heavy holiday meals.

Join me next week for an all juice day and I will share all the before and after meals I will be making in preparation.

The anytime/anywhere 1 day juice cleanse from the Juice Guru Institute is so thorough at easing you in, you hardly even notice you are on a juice fast at all.

I would be cliche and start Monday but I am already choosing to be cliche and use that day to get more movement into my body. 😉

I will however still be drinking a juice per day every day!

Thursday is my best day to juice. This gives me Wednesday as the pre juice day and Friday as my post juice, which is perfect for me because I work on weekends.

You can of course join me any day next week that you’d like. The green juices I make have herbs and kale which makes them both detoxing AND healing.

You can buy from me if you’d like, buy from someone else or make your own.

If you purchase 2 juices for the pre-day, 2 for the post-day and 8 for the juice day from me you would be purchasing enough to get delivery included as long as the address I am delivering to is not more than 45 minutes from north Forsyth.

Tofu scramble wraps with sautéed kale and avocado slices for breakfast. 😋 🌯

➡️ Ever since finding out that it takes; 6 hours for protein to digest, 4 hours for fats, 1-2 for veggies and instant or up to an hour for carbs, I have been trying to eat accordingly.

➡️ Amazingly juices are instant even when they have vegetables and greens added 🙌🏽 So I still start the day with at least a pint of juice or lemon water with nothing followed for at least 20 minutes. This way my body always starts with rehydration first.

➡️ Keeping most fruit and sugar separate from high fats or excess protein will keep them from fermenting and causing bloating and digestive issues. It’s also best as the quick pick me up prior or during physical activity. Think instant energy and organ/gi tract detoxifier, so better on its own.

➡️ Eating this way kills bad cravings throughout the day, gives me more steady energy, allows me to have more fun with options for dinner because I don’t need to suddenly consume most my protein at the end of the day and BEST of all…. Keeps my mood more grounded.

➡️ It’s still important to consume some protein after a workout, even if it’s later in the evening. With cycling coaching I don’t get to choose the time I workout so I will still take a protein shake right after and unfortunately on those days I have a later dinner too but keeping all my other workouts at least 6 hours prior to bed time helps keep these healthy habits on point.

Regardless of the state of the world keep taking care of yourself, your mind, your body, your family, it’s not time to give up, it’s time to double down.

We started the day with the ‘Lemon-Ginger Blast’ green juice, made famous by Lou Corona. It really is the best boost when you want to double down on your health efforts. It was followed by a delicious yellow dragonfruit. They’re so hydrating!

One of the practices teaches is to have a fresh juice every morning and nothing else for at least 20 minutes.

I actually start with a probiotic and glass of water followed by nothing for 15 minutes. Doing both these practices back to back has been so beneficial. It ensures you rehydrate correctly prior to starting your day, eating or even drinking caffeine.

When we sleep at night, we are consistently breathing out water, which means we are dehydrating throughout the night. We are also detoxing, our brains will only detox when we go into deep sleep. This is why doing everything you can to rehydrate in the morning is going to give you the most focus and clarity. Then later, I will have a tea for that extra boost and warmth.

JuiceGuru gives great tips to create this habit. You can start with just having an apple every morning and nothing else for 20 minutes. My back up go to has been; hand squeezing orange or grapefruit juice/straining/adding some water, the master-cleanse lemonade, a morning premade wellness shot with water, followed by a lemon water, pre-making my juices, you could also do a smoothie or a piece of fruit just to get in the habit of it.

One of the things I love the most about JuiceGuru is their practical approaches to meeting every person where they’re at, and still finding ways to guide them in the right direction. They give approaches that will take you all the way into long term lifestyle healthy habits, instead of short, quick fixes.

Hi my name is Crystal. I started juicing fresh fruits and vegetables in my kitchen well over a decade ago. I had no idea what incredible changes would occur in my life because of them and that they would become a part of mine and my children’s future forever. As a current student at ‘Health Mastery Institute’ I am now well on my way to becoming a fully certified wellness coach. The more I learn about health and nutrition the more I want to share my gifts and knowledge with the world.
