So I googled is physical therapy. The best kept secret in healthcare, and this is what came up:

 Yes, many healthcare professionals and experts are calling physical therapy the "best-kept secret" in healthcare because it's often overlooked as a proactive tool for prevention and overall wellness, rather than just for rehabilitation after injury or surgery. Physical therapists can assess movement patterns, identify potential problems early, and help people stay active and healthy throughout their lives.

To all of my physical therapy colleagues out there we need to get the word out that we are one of the best ways to start your healthcare journey!

Everyone say hello to CONNIE! 👋🏽 Connie has been battling ankle issues since she was 32 and the doctors told her her only option for a pain free life is an ankle replacement! Connie found us about 3 years ago in her search for a manual physical therapist to perform a distraction on that ankle joint and has been coming to see us weekly ever since. A conventional shoulder replacement device mimics the normal anatomy of the shoulder: a plastic "cup" is fitted into the shoulder socket (glenoid), and a metal "ball" is attached to the top of the upper arm bone (humerus).
‼️In a reverse total shoulder replacement, the socket and metal ball are switched. The metal ball is fixed to the socket and the plastic cup is fixed to the upper end of the humerus.
✨A reverse total shoulder replacement works better for people with cuff tear arthropathy because it relies on different muscles to move the arm. ✨.

In a healthy shoulder, the rotator cuff muscles help position and power the arm during range of motion. A conventional replacement device also uses the rotator cuff muscles to function properly. In a patient with a large rotator cuff tear and cuff tear arthropathy, these muscles no longer function. The reverse total shoulder replacement relies on the deltoid muscle, instead of the rotator cuff, to power and position the arm.

Here is our lovely patient, Mrs Marie, who had her reverse TSA nearly four short months ago! She is the perfect example that with hard work and great hands on PT you can come out of a replacement better than before.
