At Living Hope, restoring single mothers facing homelessness to independent living is no easy task. This ministry is filled with complex challenges as we walk hand in hand with women during some of the most vulnerable seasons of their lives.

Much of our program’s success is made possible by the incredible partnership we share with the Dawson County Family Health Department and WIC office. These community partners help us move the needle forward by coming alongside our mamas and babies with critical resources, guidance, and unwavering support.

Sher, Charity, and Missy are our go-to women—faithfully serving on the front lines by enrolling our mamas in Georgia Pregnancy Medicaid and WIC, two services we are profoundly grateful for. Their knowledge, compassion, and consistency bring stability and dignity to the families we serve.

These women rarely receive the recognition they deserve for the essential work they do in our community. Living Hope is deeply grateful for their friendship, their expertise, and their willingness to serve with excellence.

Sher, Charity, and Missy—thank you hardly seems adequate, but please know how truly thankful we are.

At Living Hope, holidays can be tender and complex. We do our best to honor each mama’s family traditions while also helping them create new ones—ones that look forward rather than back, ones that reflect healing, belonging, and hope. Navigating that balance can be tricky.

For the past couple of years, our House Manager has carried a quiet dream: to one day have Christmas china at the maternity home. She grew up cherishing holiday meals served on her mother’s Christmas dishes, and those memories became part of her own story of comfort, celebration, and togetherness. But traditional Lenox Christmas china never quite felt like the right fit for Living Hope.

This year, the Lord stirred a different idea—one rooted in creativity, art therapy, celebration, and remembrance.

Last week, our Living Hope family gathered a few dear friends and headed to a local pottery studio, where our mamas spent hours designing and painting their own Christmas plates. Laughter echoed, conversations flowed, and creativity bloomed. Each plate is a masterpiece—beautiful, bold, and as unique as the mama who created it.

These plates will live at Living Hope for years to come.
And on the back of each one, we will write the names of the mamas and staff who created them—honoring their story, their contribution, and their season in our home.

Our new Living Hope Christmas china is PERFECT in every way.
Filled with joy.
Filled with meaning.
Filled with the fingerprints—and the hearts—of the women we love so dearly.

✨ Meet the Mama Behind the Ornament ✨
This Christmas, we want to introduce you to one of our incredible mamas — a woman of courage, creativity, and strength.

Like so many single mothers, she’s doing everything she can to keep her little family afloat. She’s been searching faithfully for a job, but doors just haven’t opened yet. And with December here, the pressure is heavy — bills due, needs piling up, and the weight of Christmas.

Single mamas often wear all the hats…
including the Santa hat. 🎅🏾
And during the holidays, that can feel overwhelming.

But here’s the beautiful part of her story:

She’s an artist.

And when life pressed in, she did what artists do —
she turned to her gifts.

This mama has begun hand-painting the sweetest little ornaments, each one for $10-$15, as a way to help cover her December bills. Every ornament is unique, full of character, and painted with love in the quiet hours as she settles into our community.

Mama K is graduating from Living Hope and will be transitioning with her sweet baby into their new home in January 2026. She is looking for the following items:
1) A good, used lawn mower - riding preferred but push is fine.
