CALL TO ACTION - MENTAL HEALTH URGENT
You have asked us what you can do. We need your help now!
We are in danger of losing our Mental Health Wellness Building in Forsyth County. The commissioners voted last week in a 3/2 vote to eliminate this facility from the Administration Building site. (Mills and Levant opposed)
The building was going to provide 15 bed 24 hour observation unit, a 30 bed treatment wing, counseling offices for continued care, and the Health Department Offices.
This hits hard and is a gut punch to everyone who has hoped for and/or worked towards this coming into fruition.
The county received a 30-million-dollar federal ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) grant specifically for this building. The administrative building proposal expense increases put the project over budget. There is some talk of diverting that money to water/sewer.
1. We need you to write the commissioners: Let them know why you need this facility in Forsyth County. Please let’s flood their email boxes with disapproval on this action.
commissioners@forsythco.com
2. We need you to attend the meeting on Thursday, January 18th at 5:00 PM, as the commissioners will make a final vote regarding this decision. Please arrive by 4:30 PM (Please wear green shirts in support of Mental Health Awareness)
Commissioners' Meeting Room (Suite 220) on the second floor of the County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street, Cu***ng.
