Today, we pause to give thanks to the One who never stops pursuing us.

We’ve seen men walk through these gates feeling lost, ashamed, and unsure if they could ever be made whole again. And time after time, we’ve watched as God met them right where they were—with mercy, with patience, and with power.

Every small step, every breakthrough, every tear shed at the altar—it's all evidence of a loving God who never gave up.

Today, we’re thankful for second chances. For grace that covers our past and lights the way forward. For the spiritual growth that makes real transformation possible.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Work Wednesday — Ruben— Part 1: The Garden and the Growth

"I love the growth—no pun intended. The garden has become a metaphor for my life. The way I care for it reflects my recovery journey. It's not just about planting and walking away; it’s about showing up, even on hot days or in pouring rain. It takes discipline, patience, and consistency—and I go crazy for that kind of work. I genuinely enjoy it. The harvest is special, not just because of what I’ve grown, but because I get to share it. The look on someone’s face when I bring them fresh veggies or fruit—that's my reward.

Leading the garden here at No Longer Bound has changed me. I used to be severely impatient and needed to control everything around me. But you can’t rush a garden. Certain vegetables require specific seasons—and so do we. I’m learning that the different stages of life demand different kinds of care. Before, my life was full of weeds when it should’ve been blooming. Now I get to heal the garden of my life—planting seeds that grow into fruits of the Spirit."

Growth can take place in various ways here. We're incredibly fortunate for how it's helping Ruben become more patient in the process.

In recovery, connection isn’t just helpful—it’s essential.

That’s why every man at No Longer Bound is placed in a small group when he arrives. These groups meet three times a week, creating space to check in, reflect on the week, play games, share meals, or watch a show that sparks faith and conversation.

But more than that, small group is where walls come down. It’s a place of trust, vulnerability, and growth. What’s said in group, stays in group. And over time, strangers become brothers.

Because healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in community.

This is one of the most powerful tools in the recovery toolbox—and not just for us. If you’re walking through something hard, or even if you just want deeper connection in your life, gather a few trusted people. Make time to meet regularly. Share the real stuff. Laugh a little. Pray a little. Show up consistently.

You don’t have to be in recovery to need people. We all do.

Pain is never pointless. The trials you’ve faced, the heartbreak you’ve endured, the struggle you’re in right now—it’s not the end of your story. In fact, it might be the very thing that’s shaping you for what’s next.

At No Longer Bound, we’ve seen it firsthand. Men who came in broken, burdened, and feeling beyond repair—only to discover that their past was the soil where something powerful could grow.

Your struggle doesn’t disqualify you. It’s preparing you.

Hold on. Keep walking. The road you’re on may be hard—but it leads to something extraordinary.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
— Romans 8:28

"To me, freedom means being released from physical, mental, and spiritual bo***ge. It’s about learning to love myself, having a healthy mindset, and building an intimate, lasting relationship with God. Before coming into recovery, I saw freedom as a selfish luxury—doing what I wanted, when I wanted. But now, I see it so differently. Freedom today is rooted in love, growth, and spiritual connection.

Recovery has given me the freedom to truly love who I am, no matter what, and to finally be okay with being me. Letting go of control brought freedom through surrender—surrender brought humility, humility brought teachability, and that’s when I really started learning. I want to use this freedom to impact others by keeping what I have through giving it away—by loving people who don’t yet love themselves, by being compassionate and Christ-like to those who’ve never known that kind of relationship, and by being a living example that yes, we do recover."

Today, we pause to give thanks for the gift of family.

For the parents who didn’t give up, the siblings who kept praying, the spouses who stayed strong, and the children who gave us a reason to keep going.

In recovery, we’re reminded that healing doesn’t happen alone — it reaches through the hearts of those who love us. Whether it’s rebuilding trust, reconnecting after distance, or simply hearing “I’m proud of you”… we’re thankful for the ones who walk with us through it all.

To our families — thank you for being part of our journey.

We don't take your love and support for granted.

When a man walks through the doors of No Longer Bound, he often comes with just the clothes on his back. Some are coming straight from jail. Others have lost connection with their families. Many arrive with nothing—not even a toothbrush.

That’s why we keep basic toiletries in storage: toothpaste, deodorant, razors, shampoo, and more. These simple items meet immediate needs and restore a sense of dignity and care in those first days of recovery.

A couple of weeks ago, a team of amazing volunteers came out to help our staff sort, organize, and begin tracking our inventory of donated hygiene items—so we can make sure every man who comes in has what he needs.

We’re grateful for their time, energy, and heart.

If you're looking for a tangible way to support our mission, consider our Amazon Gift List below for items we currently need. Every small item becomes part of a much bigger story of hope and transformation.

Toolbox Tuesday: Journaling

In recovery, journaling is more than putting words on a page — it’s a way to check in with your heart and connect with God. It’s a space to be honest, to reflect, and to release what’s been building up inside.

Each morning at No Longer Bound, our residents set aside time to journal — not just as a routine, but as a form of therapy. It’s a daily practice that helps process emotions, track growth, and invite healing.

One powerful method is two-way journaling: writing down your thoughts, prayers, and questions — then pausing to listen. This kind of journaling nurtures trust, deepens your relationship with God, and helps you replace lies with truth.

What do you sense God speaking back to you today?

Let your pen become a tool for healing, growth, and grace.

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
— Jeremiah 33:3

If someone you love is battling addiction, please hear this:

You didn’t cause it. You can’t control it.

Addiction is not a reflection of your lack of love, your parenting, or your worth. Too many families carry the crushing weight of guilt and shame, asking “What could I have done differently?”

But healing doesn’t begin with blame. It begins with grace, boundaries, and support — for them, and for you.

There is hope. Recovery is possible. At No Longer Bound, we’ve seen lives changed, hearts restored, and families healed — not by fixing someone else, but by showing up with love and letting go of what you were never meant to carry.

You are not alone. And you are not responsible for someone else’s choices.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7

Today, release what was never yours to hold. And hold on to hope.

“Freedom didn’t show up all at once.It came in pieces—
In the moment I admitted I needed help.
In the first deep breath after telling the truth.
In the silence where shame used to scream.
In the grace I never thought I deserved.

Each piece felt random at first—messy, broken, out of place.
But slowly, they’re starting to fit together.
Like a puzzle I didn’t know I was building,
these pieces are forming something whole:
A life worth living. A story worth telling.
You never know what the pieces are going to add up to—
but with God, even the broken ones have a place.

Recovery has taught me that freedom isn’t just the absence of addiction, it’s the presence of peace, purpose, and people who walk with me. It’s the ability to choose a different path, one step at a time.

Today, I’m not chained to who I used to be.I’m walking in freedom—one small miracle at a time.”

It’s the little things.
A roommate who gets it.
An encouraging word at just the right time.
A song that speaks straight to your heart.
A staff member who sees past your past.

We call them God winks—those quiet, personal reminders that we’re seen, known, and loved.

They may not make headlines, but they make healing possible. They stack up in small, powerful ways to carry us through the hardest days.

In recovery, we learn to notice the beauty in the ordinary. To thank God not just for the big breakthroughs—but for the everyday mercies that remind us He’s still with us.

What little blessing are you thankful for today? 🙏

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights…”

Our residents in the auto industry aren’t just learning how to fix cars — they’re rebuilding confidence, character, and career skills. Each donated vehicle becomes a hands-on classroom where they gain practical experience, problem-solving abilities, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Once repaired, these cars are sold to help fund the very program that’s changing their lives — a powerful full-circle moment of transformation and impact.

When you donate a car, you’re not just giving up a vehicle, you’re fueling someone’s journey to a new life.

Reach out to understand how you can donate a car to support our mission.

Our Story

If addiction breaks your heart, there is help and a resource—No Longer Bound. Since 1991, No Longer Bound has been at the forefront of addiction recovery. As one of the few long-term, faith-based, clinical, and residential programs in the nation, No Longer Bound is a place for men battling addiction to find acceptance, connection, and new life.

Our mission is to rescue addicts, regenerate men and reconcile families.

As a 12-month program, men have ample time to gain valuable vocational training in one of our two revenue-generating industries—Cars4Recovery and NLB Thrift. With 100% employment at the time of graduation, men completing No Longer Bound leave free from addiction and ready for a second chance at life. Located in Cu***ng, Georgia (a northern suburb of metro Atlanta), NLB is situated on a 14-acre campus and has capacity for 56 men. NLB’s regeneration program reaches beyond the symptom of addiction and ministers to the whole man--mind, body and spirit. In addition to the 12-month residential program, NLB offers Family Recovery classes and a 6-month internship program for men who've graduated the program.
