Huge Goal Accomplished!

I was fortunate enough to be a part of a research project with a study published in a special issue on Spine Rehabilitation in the Journal of Clinical Medicine (the JCM, a high-ranking journal). This issue is now completed online as a full-text issue. The research nonprofit I collaborate with (https://cbpnonprofit.com/) has 17 original manuscripts in this issue with 1-more possible that’s in review.

Of importance, out of over 2500 special issues for the JCM over the past 10 years, this issue is ranked 100 for all-time views and downloads making it in the top 4% of viewed special issues. THIS IS A HUGE ACHIEVEMENT for such a young special issue and attests to the quality and impact that this issue is and will continue to have.

This issue will go down as an amazing multi-disciplinary collaboration to advance the state of knowledge in spinal rehabilitation.

Did you know that abnormal, unhealthy neck spinal alignment and posture are associated with neck pain, cervical disc herniation, and referred pain/radiculopathy to the hands, arms, shoulders, trapezii muscles, and the area between the shoulder blades? This can lead to disability and limitations in your ability to carry out your daily activities.

In a recent ghi-quality, randomized trial, the addition of a Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) spinal rehabilitation program was found to significantly improve neck spinal alignment and posture. This improvement was associated with improvement in chronic neck pain, arm pain, and neck disability. Participants also reported a reduction in medication usage. Furthermore, the group receiving CBP spinal rehabilitation saw approximately 25% improvement in measurable nervous system function along their spinal cord and nerves that exit their spine and travel throughout their arms!

As a chiropractor with advanced training in Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®), I help my patients rehabilitate their spine and posture back to health to eliminate a potential source of neck pain, cervical disc herniation, referred pain/radiculopathy, disability due to neck pain, and a wide range of other health conditions.

If you are serious about your health and the health of your loved ones, let me know and schedule an appointment to see if you qualify for care.

"This study assessed the relationship between body posture displacements and cardiopulmonary function test (CPET) and skill-related physical fitness tests. One hundred male and female collegiate athletes with a normal body mass index were assessed via the PostureScreen Mobile app to quantify head, thorax, and pelvis postural displacements. CPET and physical performance tests including the agility T-test, the vertical jump test, the stork static balance test (SSBT), and the dynamic Y-balance test (YBT) were performed."

And it's published!

Our newest case study investigation on correction of cervical and lumbar spinal alignment and Reactive Arthritis (aka Reiter's Syndrome) just hit the press in the Annals of Vertebral Subluxation Research.

A 10-year-old female presented with chief complaints of difficulty performing activities of daily living due to moderate, neck pain, and mid-back pain secondary to reactive arthritis. She sought care from several medical doctors and specialists who prescribed medications. Initial spinal radiographs revealed abnormal spinal alignment, subluxations, and postural distortions. Abnormal cervical and lumbar spinal alignment was identified. Using outcome assessments, the patient reported high-intensity pain and decreased quality of life.

After 20 Chiropractic BioPhysics® sessions over seven weeks involving Mirror Image® chiropractic adjustments, exercises, and tractions, the patient reported complete resolution of neck and mid-back pain and improvements in quality of life. She had not made any other lifestyle or healthcare changes or modifications. Post-care spinal radiographs revealed correction of spinal alignment, subluxations, and posture. Cervical and lumbar spinal misalignments were corrected. The patient continued regular, maintenance chiropractic adjustments 1 to 2 times per month for another 3 years. Follow-up exams showed maintained resolution in her pain levels and that she was able to perform activities of daily living ADL without limitation.

Chiropractic BioPhysics® is effective for the correction of abnormal spinal alignment, subluxations, posture, and for improvement in neuromusculoskeletal symptoms such as pain, stiffness, and decreased function in activities of daily living. This study also suggests that spinal correction using CBP® combined with regular, maintenance chiropractic adjustments may be effective in helping non-musculoskeletal or immune disorders.

And it's published!

Our newest case study investigation on correction of cervical spinal alignment and concussions just hit the press at Concussion. Concussion is a PubMed Q3 journal in the category of concussion and traumatic brain injury. It is a perfect journal for this case study. This project was made possible because of Dr. Seth Strauss and in collaboration with Drs. Douglas Lightstone, Curtis Fedorchuk, Robert Pomahac, Paul Oakley, and Deed Harrison (CBP NonProfit, USA).

A 27-year-old male professional rugby player with a 6-year history of 20 documented concussions presented with severe neck and headache pain and disability. X-rays of his neck were taken to measure spinal alignment and posture. Also, neck and headache pain, disability, and quality-of-life measures were assessed. After 30 treatment sessions of Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®) neck spinal alignment and posture rehabilitation, neck and headache pain and disability and quality of life improved. X-rays showed improved spinal alignment and posture in his neck. Follow-up x-rays 2 years after treatment showed that the improvements to his neck spinal alignment and posture were maintained. Follow-up assessment 6 years after treatment showed that the post-treatment improvements in neck and headache pain and disability and quality of life were maintained. Additionally, the patient reported only two documented concussions in the 6 years following treatment maintaining the same lifestyle and competing as a professional rugby player at the same level, position, and playing time. This is the first documented improvement in post-concussion syndrome and decreased concussion occurrence following correction of neck spinal alignment and posture. Correction of neck spinal alignment and posture allows the spine to function as a healthy shock absorber and increases its ability to decrease stress transferred to the brain from trauma responsible for concussions and may reduce the risk of concussions.
