🧀✨ We celebrated National Cheese Lovers Day in the most delicious way here at our assisted living community!

Our residents enjoyed a tasting adventure with new cheeses like dill Havarti, cranberry and cinnamon goat cheese and brie paired perfectly with red and white wines. For our friends who are lactose intolerant, we made sure to include sweet treats so everyone could join the fun.

One of our residents suggested adding red pepper jelly to the cheese and crackers and let’s just say… it was a hit worthy of a standing ovation 👏🔥

Smiles, laughter, and plenty of “just one more bite” made this a celebration to remember. We can’t wait for our next tasty adventure! 🧀🍷

Snow, ice, and bitter cold are on the way for much of the country. For older adults, winter can bring extra challenges, but a little planning can go a long way in keeping everyone safe.

• Keep your home warm and comfortable. Try to maintain an indoor temperature of at least 68°F, since it can become harder to notice cold as we get older.
• Dress in warm layers both indoors and outdoors, and choose socks or shoes with good traction to help prevent slips.
• Be cautious of icy sidewalks and driveways. Slips and falls are a leading cause of winter injuries for older adults.
• Prepare for possible power outages by having flashlights, extra blankets, water, and important medications easily accessible.
• Know the signs of hypothermia, including confusion, shivering, pale skin, or unusual fatigue.
• Take a moment to check on older neighbors, friends, or family members who may be weathering the storm alone.

Teams across our communities are closely monitoring weather conditions and taking proactive steps to ensure our residents remain safe and comfortable during the storm.

Our residents spoke, and we listened. ❤️🍽️
For one of this month’s outings, they voted to go out to dinner, and last night we enjoyed our very first dining adventure at LongHorn Steakhouse. It was a wonderful evening filled with great food, lively conversation, lots of laughter, and even better company. Moments like these remind us how special it is to share experiences together beyond our walls. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to do it again! 🥩✨
