Here are some tips to keep your back healthy this holiday season.

1. Test the weight of the load or package first.
2. Position yourself as close as possible to the package or load that you’re lifting.
3. Stand with your feet apart, with one foot slightly in front of the other.
4. Bend your knees, and squat.
5. Keep the object close to your body.
6. Return to standing using your legs.
7. Never lift with your back.
