Special Olympics Softball welcomes athletes with a wide range of abilities. However, for individuals who may have health or safety concerns, but still want to enjoy being part of a team, there is another great option. Tallmadge Challenger Baseball offers a Senior League for athletes ages 15 and older. This program provides a supportive team environment while supporting players' abilities and health needs. (Players do NOT need to be Tallmadge residents.)

During Black History Month, we recognize the many Black leaders who have advanced civil rights and expanded inclusion in all its forms. One such leader is Brad Lomax, a disability rights activist who helped secure landmark protections for people with disabilities through his advocacy during the 1977 Section 504 Sit-In.

His work reminds us that the fight for equity and inclusion has always been interconnected, and that progress happens when voices from different communities come together to demand access, dignity, and opportunity for all.
