We traded in scrubs for a little fresh air and took a team “field trip” to Cuyahoga Valley National Park this week.

Walking through a sea of bluebell flowers stretching as far as you can see was something special. It’s easy to get caught up in the pace of everyday life, but moments like this are a great reminder to pause, step outside, and take in the beauty around you.

Grateful for time together as a team—and for places like this right in our backyard!

TEAM DAY 2025!

At Falls Oral Surgery, we believe in celebrating the incredible people who make our practice what it is. Each year, we take a day to step away from the office and show appreciation for our amazing team—and this year did not disappoint!

We spent the day at the ballpark in style, renting out a suite at the Cleveland Guardians game to relax, connect, and enjoy some well-deserved fun together. We even had a guest appearance from Dr. Hoffman!

To our dedicated team: thank you for the passion, care, and excellence you bring every day. You make Falls Oral Surgery truly special!

It was Team Day recently!!! Each year one of the things we do to celebrate our amazing team is arrange a surprise Team Day. This year we had a great time blowing glass at Akron Glass Works. Highly recommend this for a group of 5 or more. They were so helpful and amazing to work with. We then went shopping at SouthPark Mall. Each team member had 2.5 hours to spend money provided for them "on themselves only". We ended the day with dinner at Triv's Restaurant in Strongsville. Did more contests at dinner and then the bus ride home.

Thank you to all of our team that allows to provide kind, compassionate, excellent care to our patients!

We want to say “Thank you!” to our departing Practice Relations Coordinator, Heather. Heather joined our practice in 2007 as a surgical assistant and after becoming the PRC many years ago, made sure all of our referring offices had any support they needed along with being the point person on hosting our large annual continuing education conference.

Heather is leaving to spend more time with her beautiful family and we wish her the best in her future and will certainly miss her.

Stepping in to the position is Kennedy. Kennedy has been with us for almost 2 years, has embraced the role and is off to a great start. Heather did a wonderful job with the transition and we don’t expect to miss a beat with Kennedy.

Thank you to both of you for all you do and have done for Falls Oral Surgery.

Happy Birthday to us!!!!!

We are happy to announce that on July 1, Falls Oral Surgery had been serving patients for 60 years. Started by Dr. Leon Wyant in 1962, our practice has grown through the guidance of Dr. Wyant, Dr. Lewis Winston, Dr. Michael Hoffman, Dr. W. Stephen Barnes and Dr. Paul Rollins.

Thank you to all of our referring offices and our loyal patients that allow us to provide care to the greater Akron community.

We are humble and grateful.

We recently wished a Happy Retirement to Jen at our front desk. Jen has been a fixture at Falls Oral Surgery for 26 years. We will certainly miss her and wish her the best as she creates new adventures.

We've been blessed to have many long-term employees at FOS and in the past year have also had a couple of other "members of our family" retire. Keep an eye out for features on them in the next couple of weeks.

This past weekend Dr. Barnes attended the annual Dental Implant Conference sponsored by the American Association of Oral and Maixillofacial Surgeons.

He will bring back the latest thought processes and techniques so we can provide optimal results for our patients.

Dr. Hoffman and his wife Ginny were so happy to have dinner tonight with Dr. Lew Winston and his wife Pam. Dr. Winston joined Dr. Wyant in 1982 and was instrumental in bringing dental implants into our practice. He retired from Falls Oral Surgery in 2008.

Football Season started so our Falls Oral Surgery "Fun Committee" decided that we would have an Ohio State kickoff party after work last Thursday!! Even our Penn State fan, Dr. Barnes got into the festivities...Go Bucks!!
