One of the biggest fears about going to the Emergency Room isn’t the illness or injury—it’s the wait.

So many people hesitate before seeking care because they imagine sitting in the ER for hours on end, uncomfortable, anxious, and wondering if anyone will get to them anytime soon. That fear alone causes many patients to delay care longer than they should.

At Western Reserve Hospital, we understand that concern. No one wants to feel forgotten when they’re already worried about their health. That’s why our emergency team works hard every day to ensure that each patient is evaluated and cared for as efficiently and safely as possible.

If you’re putting off a visit to the ER because you’re worried about waiting for hours, know this: Western Reserve Hospital is committed to seeing patients in a timely fashion while keeping safety and quality at the center of every decision.

Weight loss is hard—and blaming myself only made it harder.

For years, I thought my weight struggles were a personal failure. If I just had more willpower. If I just tried harder. If I just stopped messing up. That voice in my head was relentless—and cruel.

I tried every plan, every reset, every promise of “this time will be different.” When the scale didn’t move or the weight came back, the shame felt heavier than the pounds themselves. I blamed my body. I blamed my choices. I blamed myself.

If you’re struggling with your weight and carrying guilt on top of it, please hear this: you are not lazy, broken, or weak. You deserve compassion—especially from yourself. Weight loss should never come at the cost of your mental or emotional well‑being.

Pelvic health impacts so much more than many realize — and the conditions are deeply connected.
Issues like pelvic pain, urinary leakage, prolapse, lower‑back discomfort, and core instability often share the same root causes: weakened or overactive pelvic floor muscles, hormonal changes, pregnancy and childbirth, or even chronic posture and movement patterns.

When one part of the pelvic system is affected, others often follow — which is why understanding the whole picture is the key to feeling better.

Women’s Night: Understanding Pelvic Health and learn how these conditions intersect, why they happen, and what you can do to take control of your health.

If you’ve ever hesitated to schedule an appointment with a urogynecologist because of what you want to talk about—you’re not alone.

Concerns like bladder leaks, pelvic pressure, bowel changes, pain, or vaginal symptoms can feel deeply personal. Many patients worry they’ll be judged, rushed, or asked to discuss things they’ve spent years avoiding. The truth is: these topics are exactly why urogynecologists exist—and your first visit is intentionally designed to make those conversations easier.
