Today is World Down Syndrome Day. Down syndrome is a condition that occurs when there is an extra chromosome at birth, which are genes that determine how our body looks and grows. Usually, people are born with 46 chromosomes, but people with Down syndrome have 47 chromosomes. The extra chromosome copy is trisomy 21.

For March's Port of Call, we explored the region of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Residents tried some authentic Brazilian treats from K' Delicia Brazilian Gourmet and some Brazilian soda. We learned about Rio De Janeiro history and had some trivia. Lastly we enjoyed some balloon toss on one of the beautiful beaches of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
