Labor Day is a day to honor the hard work of Texans, from family-run h**p farms to manufacturing and veteran owned retail stores. They’ve built jobs and communities rooted in responsibility and dedication.

But if SB 6 OR HB 6 become law, it would criminalize products that are federally legal and collapse thousands of businesses across the state. This isn’t how we value work in Texas.

Texans deserve safe, regulated access to h**p for adult use—not a ban that punishes workers and consumers.

Call or email representatives to oppose the Texas h**p ban and back practical, enforceable regulation.

With only 19 days left in Texas’ 2nd Special Session, the h**p ban bills SB6 and HB6 remain stalled in the House.
They’ve already passed the Senate, but in order to become law they must:
Be heard in a House committee
→ Pass a committee vote
• Clear a full House vote (with no changes)
→ Then head to the Governor’s desk
If these bills don’t move by Sept. 13, they die. But - Abbott has already signaled more agenda items, which means a 3rd session may beckon.
This is a crucible moment. If a hearing is called, things will move fast, and we’ll need all hands ready to call reps. Stay tuned - together we can transcend fear-driven bans and push for real regulation.🌿

🚨URGENT-Immediate action needed! Takes a few seconds to help!

Yesterday in Austin, Sen. Charles Perry introduced Senate Bill 5, which closely reflects SB 3 from the regular session. The bill bans all cannabinoids other than CBD and CBG, creating criminal penalties for sales AND possession. Sen. Perry and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick remain dedicated to handing over the h**p industry to the illicit market and re-criminalizing simple possession. But Gov. Greg Abbott has called for regulations, NOT prohibition!

To ensure consumer protection, hold bad actors accountable, and prevent youth access to h**p-derived THC, our state should work to fill the gaps in our current regulatory infrastructure.

SB 5 was quickly referred to the Senate State Affairs Committee and immediately scheduled for a hearing with very little notice to the public. The committee will meet at 9am this morning to consider SB 5 and two other bills.

We can't know exactly what time SB 5 will be up for consideration this morning, so advocates are encouraged to oppose this by submitting written testimony immediately to:
