Got to celebrate 5 years of marriage and 10 years of dating yesterday with my favorite guy! I love that food can serve us in our lives in so many different ways- one of them being celebration! How was the holiday weekend, friends? Holidays can be wonderful, celebratory, and full of joy- but they can also be difficult, triggering, and full of grief. Leave space for both. Recover today in whatever way that makes sense for you. Whether it’s continuing on healing your relationship with food and your body, patching up relationships, moving forward, or just recovering from a full, busy weekend. My daughter had not one, but five Easter egg hunts. She’s a pro now, but we are definitely in recovery mode today.

Unless you eat a late dinner meal, genuine physical hunger is likely to happen before bedtime. Eat a satisfying snack without guilt, shame, rules, or restrictions!

Why recover? Why make all this effort to improve your relationship with food and your body? Why pursue peace within yourself?
If we can get to a place where we are choosing joy over turmoil, shame, regret, etc etc, our lives can become about so much more than food, our body, our shame, our past. We can move to a place where these things don't hold us back and we can live aligned with our values. Take back the power to choose joy, have freedom, and live the life you were meant to live.

It encourages those who follow it to consistently check in with not just physical health, but all other facets of our overall health and well being. In this way, it is a truly holistic model of care.
