Brandy Brock, M.S., LMFT, Marriage and Family Therapist

Brandy Brock, M.S., LMFT, Marriage and Family Therapist I strive to empower others, build confidence, break through barriers, and overcome life’s challenges. I also provide group therapy to empower women and mothers.

My goal is to create a supportive space where you can grow, heal, and reach your full potential. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate at Cy-Hope Counseling. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston-Downtown. Upon graduating from UHD, I worked with at-risk families and children in foster care and then provided crisis intervention and emotional support to children and adults in schools. I completed my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. During the program, I served as a practicum student at Cy-Hope Counseling providing counseling to children, teens, adults, families, and couples. I also co-facilitated counseling groups for children and teens. Upon graduating from ACU, I joined the Cy-Hope Counseling staff. I continue to provide counseling to children, teens, adults, families and couples. My mission is to empower others to build confidence, break through communication barriers and overcome challenges using and eclectic approach to therapy (i.e. combining different styles of therapy). I believe self-reflection and empowerment are key factors in building healthy relationships and joining in effective dialogue. My goal is to encourage a healthy sense of self and build the confidence to navigate everyday life challenges. Click on my bio: https://bio.site/EmpoweringMinds_BrandyBrock

Being in a relationship is a lot of work. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is listen to what our partner is saying.

Listening is more than hearing words — it’s tuning in to emotions, needs, and the meaning behind them. In healthy relationships, we don’t listen just to respond… we listen to understand.

📌 ADHD is more than distraction—it’s complex, real, and often misunderstood.
Let’s break the stigma and share the facts.

🧠 ADHD is not a behavior problem.
💛 It affects emotions, motivation, and executive function.
🙋🏽‍♀️ And yes—it can look different in women.

Support, understanding, and the right tools can change everything.
✨ You’re not broken—you’re wired differently, and you’re not alone.

Self-compassion is a powerful practice that can transform how we relate to ourselves. Here are six simple yet profound ways to bring more kindness and care into your life:

1️⃣ Ask yourself, 'What do I need?': Pause for a moment and check in. Do you need rest, reassurance, movement, or connection? Listening to yourself with curiosity and care is a powerful act of self-compassion.

2️⃣ Treat Yourself Like a Friend: Speak to yourself with the same kindness and understanding you’d offer a dear friend.

3️⃣ Supportive Touch: A gentle hand on your heart or a comforting self-hug can soothe and ground you in moments of distress.

4️⃣ Write a Self-Compassionate Letter: Put pen to paper and offer yourself words of comfort and encouragement, just as you would to someone you love.

5️⃣ Remember You Aren’t Alone: It’s important to acknowledge that we all face challenges—this imperfection is what makes us human.

6️⃣ Use a Warm Inner Tone of Voice: Try to adopt a gentle tone with yourself, especially when things go wrong. Practice patience, understanding, and warmth toward yourself.

💡 Love can be powerful—but not all expressions of love are healthy. Sometimes, we confuse control or overgiving with care. Learning the difference between healthy and unhealthy love helps us grow, set better boundaries, and build more fulfilling relationships. 💞

🌿 Feeling like you have to be perfect to be accepted is a heavy burden to carry. The truth is—perfection isn’t connection. It’s through grace, self-love, and embracing our beautiful imperfections that we find true belonging. You are worthy, flaws and all. 💖

✨ Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between building a wall and setting a boundary. Walls are built out of fear—to protect us from pain. Boundaries, on the other hand, are built from self-worth—they teach others how to love and respect us. One shuts people out, the other invites safe connection. 💬💛

It’s uncomfortable to face the hard moments we often try to avoid—but healing begins there. When we ignore the parts of us that hurt, we also block the parts of us that can grow. Facing the discomfort is where true transformation begins—and it’s how we step into our full potential. 💛

We often set unrealistic expectations for ourselves, leaving us feeling inadequate or disconnected. True growth comes not from striving for perfection, but from embracing who we are. Take time to explore your authentic self — within that person lies strength, resilience, and genuine happiness.
