It is an incredible honor to officially begin my term as President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons —the worlds largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons, representing more than 11,000 members across the globe.
This moment is both humbling and deeply meaningful to me as I’ve “grown up” professionally in this society over 20+ years. The responsibility is profound, and so is the opportunity to shape the future. Plastic surgery is more than a profession, it’s a calling built on compassion, creativity, and precision.
Our ASPS mission is clear: to uphold the highest standards in education, ethics, innovation, practice management, research, and training, while advancing public awareness of the vital importance of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery performed by board-certified plastic surgeons.
This is day 1 for me in this role and the future starts now. Our team plans to leaverage the power of A.I. to deepen ASPS’s engagement with members worldwide; modernizing the membership experience through personalized tools and resources tailored to each surgeon’s educational interests and practice needs, across all subspecialties and modes of practice.
I personally look forward to working with Babak Mehrara PSF President and the entire ASPS team on behalf of all our and our patients. Here’s to a year of growth, purpose, and progress working with and for you.
