December makes everyone want to “glow up,” but this is the month where experimenting causes the most breakouts.

Stick with what already works
Drastic routine changes=irritation + acne flare ups.

New products need time
Your skin won’t “transform” in a day. Most acne-friendly products need 4-8 weeks to show real results.

Choose consistency over trends
No random TikTok products, no emergency peels, no trying 6-step routines the week of a party.

Your skin will thank you for keeping things simple this month. 🥰

Flights are brutal on acne-prone skin—and breakouts after travel are extremely common. Here’s why:

Dry cabin air
•Your skin overproduces oil to compensate ➡️ congestion.

Touching your face
•Airports + planes = bacteria central.

Falling asleep in your makeup 😴
•Long travel + no cleansing = instant breakout recipe.

Wearing a mask for hours
•Humidity + friction = clogged pores, especially around the mouth/jaw.

Drinking little to no water🚰
•Dehydration leads to inflammation and slower healing.

Travel tip:
Hydrate, cleanse once you land, and use a hydrating serum to reset your skin. ❤️

You’re allowed to enjoy the season and take care of your skin at the same time. ❤️

Things to Avoid After an Acne Treatment 👏

🚫 1. Touching or picking the skin
Your skin is more vulnerable right now—touching can introduce bacteria and cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

🚫 2. Makeup
Skip makeup for the rest of the day (or at least 24 hours). It can clog freshly opened pores and slow healing.

🚫 3. Direct sun exposure
UV exposure can worsen redness and lead to hyperpigmentation. If you must be outside, SPF 30+ is non-negotiable.

🚫 4. Heavy sweating
Avoid the gym, hot yoga, saunas, and steam rooms for 24–48 hours. Heat + sweat can irritate freshly treated skin and reopen pores.

🚫 5. Hot showers
Keep water lukewarm. Heat dilates blood vessels and increases redness and sensitivity.

When the weather gets colder, your skin goes through changes that can make acne flare more often—and heal more slowly. Cold air has very little humidity, which pulls moisture from the skin and weakens your barrier. A compromised barrier leads to irritation, inflammation, and an imbalance in oil production.

Here’s what happens in winter:

•Low humidity draws moisture out of the skin, causing dryness and sensitivity.

•The barrier weakens, making acne more inflamed and reactive.

•Oil production increases as your skin tries to compensate for the dryness.

•Dead skin cells build up faster, leading to congestion and clogged pores.

•Indoor heating strips the skin even more, worsening irritation and breakouts.

How to support acne-prone skin in colder months:

•Use our Acnefix Gentle Wash to avoid over-stripping.

•Layer our Acnefix hydrating serum to reinforce moisture levels.

•Keep using SPF, even on cloudy, cold days.

•Stay consistent with your routine to help breakouts heal faster.

If your winter routine needs a little adjusting, we can help guide you toward products and treatments that keep your skin balanced all season long.

Superficial chemical peels are a gentle yet effective way to reset acne-prone skin. Using acne-safe acids, they lift away dead skin, clear buildup, and encourage healthier, more consistent skin renewal.

Key Benefits:

•Dissolves excess oil + unclogs pores
•Reduces congestion + helps minimize breakouts
•Speeds up cell turnover for smoother, softer texture
•Fades post-acne marks and uneven tone over time
•Balances oil production + refined the look of pores
•Improves absorption of serums and acne treatments

With consistent treatment, these peels help maintain clearer, more balanced, and visibly refreshed skin. 🧖🏽‍♀️
