These smiles make my heart so full! 😊

One of my favorite traditions at our Pulmonary and Sleep practice is our quarterly employee appreciation events. Every three months, our entire team from all locations gets together—everyone paid for the day, no matter their position—to just have FUN.

This spring, we had a blast! Whether it's laser tag, pickleball, or bowling, these events give our team a chance to let their inner child come out and play. The serious professional facade melts away, and we get to see the playful, fun-loving spirit in each other.

It's amazing what happens when people feel free to laugh, compete, be silly, and simply enjoy the moment together. Those connections and that joy carry back into our workplace, and it shows in the incredible care our team provides to every patient.

What I love most is the positive energy that follows. It transforms our workplace and reminds us why we're grateful to work alongside such wonderful people.

To our amazing staff: THANK YOU. You are the reason our patients leave such wonderful reviews, and you're the reason we love what we do. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! 💙

Dr. Shashvat Sukhal is an accomplished interventional pulmonologist with extensive expertise in pulmonary medicine, critical care, and advanced bronchoscopic procedures. A 2009 graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College in India, he completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2014 and earned his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago in 2017. Following his fellowship, he served as faculty at Cook County Hospital and as an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center. To advance his specialized training, Dr. Sukhal completed an Interventional Pulmonary fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. His clinical expertise encompasses robotic and rigid bronchoscopy with stent placement, advanced therapeutic procedures including cryotherapy and argon-plasma coagulation, and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for COPD and emphysema. He is also proficient in percutaneous tracheostomy, sleep endoscopy for obstructive sleep apnea, pleuroscopy, and critical care echocardiography. As core faculty, Dr. Sukhal has played a vital role in training medical students, residents, and fellows while spearheading educational initiatives. His scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences. He maintains active membership in the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology. As a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and active member of the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, Dr. Sukhal will lead our Pulmonary Nodule Clinic, bringing cutting-edge pulmonary care to Gwinnett County and surrounding communities through collaboration with our trusted healthcare partners.

We celebrated our exceptional team members for their outstanding work quality and took time to express our genuine gratitude for their contributions. We are excited to welcome Vanessa Goodman, FNP-BC to our team. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Vanessa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lincoln University in 2017. After beginning her career at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia, she transitioned to travel nursing in 2021, gaining experience in Palliative Care, Medical-Surgical, and Emergency Medicine. Her excellence in Emergency Medicine led to promotions as Emergency Department Charge Nurse and Nursing Administrative Hospital Supervisor. In 2024, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from South University. Vanessa approaches patient care with unwavering dedication, combining her diverse clinical experience with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional, personalized healthcare to every individual under her care.
