I want to take a moment to introduce you to my incredible bio mother, Yvonne Giroux , who has been through an unimaginable journey over the past two years. After suffering a devastating fall that resulted in a severe head injury, she has endured not only the physical challenges of recovery but also the emotional toll that comes with it.
Yvonne recently underwent an extensive surgery to address the complications that arose from her initial injury, including infection and sepsis. The surgery involved the removal of part of her skull bone, the placement of a titanium plate, the reconstruction of her head using a muscle from her back, and a large skin graft from her leg. Throughout this difficult process, she has shown immense courage and determination, facing each obstacle with unwavering strength.
Despite the hardships she has faced, Yvonne has made significant positive changes in her life. She has embraced sobriety, giving up drinking and smoking to live her best life. Her resilience and determination are truly inspiring, and we cannot wait for her to fully recover and thrive once again.
However, the costs of hospital parking, travel, and meal expenses have added up, creating additional stress during an already challenging time. I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support in relieving some of these financial stressors for my mother and our family.
If you are not local to Greenstone, fear not, you can still participate! I will be in Thunder Bay, Ottawa and Toronto at different points this year and will make myself available to you. You can also choose to transfer / donate the photo session.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly towards supporting my mom, step-dad, sister, and family as we continue to navigate Yvonne's recovery journey. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in helping us cover the ongoing medical and associated expenses.
