I've (slowly) learned that the moment you step out of your comfort zone, it feels icky 😬.

😳Nervous
🤢Tummy weirdness
🏃‍♀️A desire to run away (one of my favourites)
🫣A need for distraction
🤬Irrational anger

But I'm learning that if I want something to change in my life, if I want to make a bigger impact in this world, if I want to inspire and encourage women everywhere to be the best version of themselves, well then...

😍Start tracking your period and how you feel ALL month. Had a hysterectomy? You still have fluctuating hormones, just no period. So track.⁠

😌Start your calm by meditating.⁠

🏃‍♀️ Warm-Up (10-15 min)
✔️ 5-10 min easy jog
✔️ Dynamic drills: High knees, butt kicks, A-skips, lunges
✔️ 3-4 strides (60m at 70-80% effort)

🔥 Main Set: Sprint Intervals with Full Recovery
🔹 4-5 x 200m sprints (or 4-5 x 30 seconds) @ 90% effort
⏸️ Rest: 3-5 min walking & deep breathing

I’ve been seeing patients for over 15 years and I can count on 3 hands the number of times a woman has answered the following question “correctly”:

🤔How many days is your cycle?

➡️A cycle starts at the first day of real menstrual flow and ends at the next menstrual flow.

While there is no “correct” answer as a healthy cycle can range from 21-35 days (give or take a few days), when a woman answers 5 days I know something’s off.

What’s off?
How poorly we teach girls and women about their menstrual cycle. Quality “sex education is a critical method of women empowerment in health through increasing their health.”

So next election season, consider carefully which platform supports evidence-based sexual health education.
