Let's be honest -- our teams are amazing. That's why we choose one each quarter to highlight how they are living our values at Lunchtime. The winner of our Team Rockin' It award for the third quarter of the 24-25 school year is our team at Nebraska City Public Schools!

Our Nebraska City team was nominated by Food Service Director Heather Popish for demonstrating our values of Taking Pride in What You Do, Drive to Improve, Pursuing Lasting Partnerships, and Expressing Gratitude.

"The team in Nebraska City is rocking our core values day in and day out! I am so proud of how far this team has come in a little more than a year of being led by a new Food Service Director. Team Nebraska City deserves a BIG THANK YOU for their dedication to our students and staff! When I joined this team they endured many changes. These changes were not easy, but their Drive to Improve led the way. Kitchen Managers in each building have taken on tasks that they were unsure of in the beginning but, with this they have Pursued Lasting Partnerships with administration, staff, maintenance, and vendors just to name a few. We also Take Pride in What We Do by bridging the gap between Lunchtime and the district. The rest of the core values fall into place with the food we serve, the smiles we dish up, and the encouraging interactions we have with the minds we are fueling for the future."

In an effort to encourage healthy eating, every Tuesday during summer feeding our team at Vermillion School District has highlighted one fruit or vegetable every week. The "Try It Tuesday" broccoli was from local grower Mitchel Morse. The students were very excited to try these fruits and veggies!

We're so thankful for these partnerships that allow us to serve locally raised beef at Custer School District 16-1!

CSD is once again honored to receive generous beef donations from our local ranchers for the first semester of 2025! We are deeply grateful for their continued support and commitment to the well-being of our students.

Thanks to these ranchers: Olivia Edoff, Tif & Tyler Robertson, Tyler & Margo Carroll, and Clinton & Calli Dikoff! Due to their generous donations, Lunchtime Solutions, Inc., will be able to prepare all beef dishes for the 2025-26 school year at our Hermosa and Custer schools using healthy, nutritious, free-range, grass-fed beef! A special thank-you also goes to Lunchtime Solutions Inc. for their partnership in the Ranch to Schools program and for providing nutritious meal options for our students every day.

Together, we're building a stronger, healthier school community!

Amy German was recently promoted to Kitchen Manager at Ballard East Elementary School, where she and her team serve 3rd through 5th graders. Amy's dedication to her team and students is evident. We're proud to feature her as our Friday Face this week!

Amy enjoys helping people. Her hobbies are anything having to do with crafts and craft shows, which shines through in her decorating abilities in the Ballard East kitchen. She also loves to swim, jet ski, fish, and rock with her granddaughter. And she throws a mean game of darts! Her favorite color is pink, and don't forget the glitter.

"Amy has brought a new fun energy to both staff and students," said Food Service Director Stephanie Mullin. "We are lucky to have her as part of our team." Thank you so much for all you do, Amy -- you are appreciated!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Turnip the Beet Award recognizes outstanding summer meal program sponsors across the nation who work hard to offer high quality meals to children that are appetizing, appealing, and nutritious during the summer months.

We're planting the seeds of food education! Kiddos in the St. Agnes Catholic Church & School Red and Gold summer program got some container gardening experience this summer. With the help of Josee Barth, Red and Gold Program Director, and Food Service Director Rachelle Loutsch, the students planted a variety of vegetables, including peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. We love this experience! 🫑🍅🥒

Sanjuana Guerrero, better known as Juanis to her friends and team members at Holy Cross School St. Michael, loves to cook. It's part of what makes her excellent at her job as Kitchen Manager. We're proud to feature her as our Friday Face this week!

What Juanis loves most about her job is that it gives her the freedom to manage her time and prioritize what really matters: her family. It also allows her to enjoy her hobbies, such as fishing and being out in nature.

"Juanis is a joy to work with, and she is always smiling," said Food Service Director Rachel Kolker. "She is very hard working and is quick to learn. And she loves to see the kids in the lunch line, including her own." We're so thankful to have you on our team, Juanis -- you are appreciated!

As Office Manager for Lunchtime Solutions, Tonya Harrison is someone everyone looks forward to talking to. When someone calls our office, her smiling voice is the one that answers. And she is willing to help out wherever an extra hand is needed, whether that is with HR, the Safety Team, our annual leadership conference planning committee, and so much more. We're proud to feature her as our Friday Face this week!

Tonya's favorite thing to do is spend time with her family, especially her awesome grandchildren. She enjoys camping and hunting with her husband, Mike, who is in the photo below with her. When she has some spare time, she loves to read.

"Tonya has been a wonderful addition to the accounting team," said Zach Grant, Director of Finance. "The general office is a better and happier place with her here. Tonya has been a fantastic help to me and the HR team with all the projects we are working on this year.
