Today, I heard a story about a teenage girl who has been suffering from anxiety and my heart went out to her.

When I was 13, my mom took me to the doctor, convinced that I was pregnant. I was getting sick every morning before school. That is the first time I heard the word....ANXIETY.

I had no idea what it meant and I spent the next 30 years trying to figure it out. I can't say that I have mastered it entirely but I can say that the tools I have been given from many years of yoga has changed my life.

If only I knew about the healing art of yoga, breath, and mindfulness sooner!

A yoga practice can help with managing anxiety, building mindfulness and awareness, and empowering self-confidence and resilience.

Let's chat if you think these skills sound like something your teenager could benefit from! It would be my privilege to share my knowledge with them so they don't have to spend the next thirty years trying to find what works best for them when we can give them those tools right now.

I truly love our space at PYF Studio. It’s more than a place where we do yoga. It’s a place to reset, recalibrate, and choose the kind of movement your body actually needs.

Tonight I’m guiding three different experiences, each designed to meet you exactly where you are:

5:30 PM – Vinyasa
A steady, breath-to-movement flow that builds warmth, strength, and focus. Expect fluid sequencing, mindful transitions, and that grounded, empowered feeling when you leave. Perfect if you want to move energy, clear your head, and feel strong.

6:30 PM – Gentle
Slow, supportive movement with space to breathe. We’ll focus on mobility, joint care, and nervous system regulation. Ideal if your body feels tired, tight, or overstimulated — or if you simply want something accessible and nourishing.

7:30 PM – Restorative (as a substitute for Jen)
Deep rest. Fully supported poses using bolsters and blankets, held for longer periods to allow your body to truly soften. I’ll offer optional Reiki throughout class to encourage energetic balance and deep relaxation. This is your exhale. Your pause. Your reset.

Different energy. Different intention. Same supportive space.

I could not be more humbled or honored than to hold space for a nursing mama who had never been separated from her child before. The trust it took for her to place her beautiful son in the very capable hands at Villa Advocacy Group, Inc. - Villa Community Hub so she could reconnect with her mind and body through yoga…that’s not something I take lightly.

Motherhood is hard enough. Choosing to take time to refill your own cup can feel like the biggest step of all. But you don’t have to do it alone. We’ve got you.

Come in your pajamas or the hoodie you’ve worn for the last three days. Come with messy hair. Come with the chaos and the clutter. Come exactly as you are.

I saved you a pillow and a blanket.

Rare Sunday afternoon naps remind me that creating time to pause and reset is sometimes exactly what we need to show up as our best selves.

This week’s class theme at Villa is Pause & Reset — a supportive yoga experience created for moms who need space to slow down midweek, refill their own cup, and breathe a little easier.

We will move gently, breathe slowly, and take a few moments to settle the nervous system in a way that feels accessible and grounding.

The focus is on relief, not performance, with simple movement, supportive poses, and space to reconnect with your body.

No yoga experience required.

Adaptable for pregnancy, postpartum, and tired bodies.

Come as you are. Bring a blanket and I will take care of the rest.

Rest is welcome here.

Maternal Health Awareness Day was a huge hit and I still have so many pictures to share!

Thank you to Balanced Life Chiropractic for the work you do for pregnant women in Prince William County!

Before the snow storm came, we had the opportunity to participate in an event centered to pregnant woman. We had a great time participating and can't wait to do another one in the future.
