Celebrating 10 YEARS!!
Tyler Hyde started at Spurgeon in September of 2015. He is now the Maintenance Supervisor - managing the day-to-day repairs and upkeep on the campus. This includes maintaining the property, all the buildings, and ensuring the completion of required audits & inspections. We are fortunate to have Tyler on the Spurgeon Team and appreciate EVERYTHING he does for the residents and staff.

Celebrating 40 Years at Spurgeon!!
Dena Goepferich has been a pillar at Spurgeon Manor for DECADES … literally! She started at Spurgeon in September of 1985. Over the years, she has seen renovations, additions, and new care levels added to the campus.
Dena started as a CNA, then become a CMA. Dena took over as Supervisor for the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments when Joanne Thomas retired. She assists the maintenance staff with scheduling of work assignments and repair requests, and also oversees OSHA and Life Safety compliance.
We are so fortunate to have Dena as a member of Team Spurgeon. She is truly loyal to the Spurgeon Community and lives our Mission Statement everyday – Caring with Respect and Dignity. We thank her for EVERYTHING she does – every single day.

Marlee Ohrtman has worked at Spurgeon Manor for over four years and recently passed the board of nursing test – to receive her LPN license! Recognizing her achievement are (left to right) - Brenda Lynch (Director of Nursing Services), Marlee, Kasey Finnell (Coordinator of Nursing Services), and Melodee Wasson (MDS Coordinator). Congratulations Marlee! Thanks for all you do for the residents and your fellow team members!

Progress ...
The RCF west wing - is no more. While it was sad to see it go, the infrastructure was no longer functional and did not support the needs of the Spurgeon Community. This week, as we witnessed the demolition and dismantling of the building - we reminisced about all the wonderful residents that have walked those halls.
And now, as the clean-up continues, we prepare for the next steps - the remodel of the south wing. We'll keep you posted!

Alyssa McMahon joined the Spurgeon team in July of 2010, as a new CNA; and since then has acquired her CMA. She is a positive, compassionate, upbeat team member. She treats everyone with respect and treats the residents like family. We are so lucky to have her! Congratulations Alyssa!

Our summer is off to a GREAT start! We recognized our wonderful CNAs during National CNA Week (June 12-18) with guessing games, a Coffee Bar, BBQ lunch, Candy Bar, fresh donuts, and root beer floats. Thanks is never enough for all their hard work, dedication and compassion. We are blessed with the very best!

May was MARVELOUS!

We celebrated our wonderful nurses during National Nurses Week and then the entire team during National Skilled Nursing Care Week!! Thank-you to some of our partners for assisting with the festivities. Suncrest Hospice, and their team members Kim and Shannon - for the Popcorn Bar! Thank you! We truly appreciate your contribution!! We also had a Coffee Bar, Piescream, and dress-up days wearing various colors, hats and cowboy duds. We had a great time and are so grateful for all our amazing team members.

We have opportunities to have new faces join our team!
• Our nursing team is adding a nurse to both the day and evening shift (6am-6pm and 2pm-10pm). This is open to both LPN’s or RN’s to apply.
• Our dietary team is adding a full-time evening cook (11am-7:30pm) to the team, experience is great, but we can also train!
