Celebrating National Vet Girls Rise Day! 🇺🇸 Today, we honored a remarkable female veteran who also serves as one of our resident ambassadors. A heartfelt speech written by another resident, Lois was shared during dinner to recognize Peg's contributions and dedication. Proud moments captured with these inspiring women. ✨👏
This is what she wrote:
On February 19th, National Vet Girls RISE Day recognizes the immense dedication of the nearly 2 million U.S. veteran women.
On National Vet Girls RISE Day, not only is it a day to recognize women veterans, but it is a day for women veterans to support one another and to share resources, build relationships and spread awareness concerning the needs of women veterans.
In my personal world I share community with a retired Army Nurse, Peg _____, who spent a fabulous and happy career in the military when women were less accepted and absolutely not respected. Yet, she is a wonderful soul and with a no nonsense personality. Always willing to go the extra mile as long as it is what is right. Thank you Peg for your service. You are appreciated. I truly love nurses who held the light for the next generation of nurses... Helped us to learn and grow to take care of people as a whole.
Nurses who not only believe but understand::
