Can a GLP-1 medication cure an eating disorder? I understand why people are asking.

Food noise can feel relentless.
Fighting your body is exhausting.
And the promise of quiet can sound like relief.

But recovery asks deeper questions than symptom suppression alone.

🤍It asks about nourishment, trust, nervous system safety, and what happens when the medication is no longer there.

I shared some thoughtful reflections in a new blog post offering important considerations for anyone navigating recovery in today’s culture.

To FBT or Not FBT? Adolescent ED Recovery - I’ve wanted to write this for a long time. Family Based Therapy is often considered the “gold standard” for adolescents with eating disorders.

While it can be incredibly helpful, especially in the early stages, there is another side that I’ve seen again and again while walking alongside families.

In this post, I share my perspective as an eating disorder recovery coach and as someone who has lived through recovery myself. I talk about where FBT helps, where it can fall short, and why motivation, trust, and connection matter so much for lasting healing.

If you are a parent supporting an adolescent or teen, my hope is that this brings clarity, validation, and hope.

💙 Recovery is possible. And you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Why I Expanded My Coaching Practice - My own recovery journey has shaped not only who I am, but how I show up in this work for others. As my practice has grown, I’ve been very intentional and prayerful about how it grows.

Recovery deserves care that is personal, connected, and rooted in both education and lived experience. And when my schedule fills, my heart genuinely hurts that I cannot do more.

For almost ten years of coaching, I’ve tried to find ways to help more people without ever diluting the level of care I provide...through partnerships, referrals, and creating resources. While those matter, nothing can truly replace one-on-one support.

My love for team synergy, different strengths working toward a shared purpose, goes all the way back to my banking days. So building a small, intentional recovery team felt both natural and timely.

So excited to introduce you to:
Cambria Camp, Harper Reed, & Elizabeth Betz

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲: 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐒𝐨 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝
Not too long ago, I shared a post on Instagram about why trusting your body can feel so hard in recovery. The response surprised me. For a more educational post, there was a lot of engagement.

It deserved more space, so I turned that post into a blog.

In it, I talk about interoception, why body cues can feel confusing, and why struggling to trust your body doesn’t mean you’re doing recovery wrong.

I’ve been having conversations with clients lately about the very thin bodies showing up in Hollywood, and how these visuals quietly reinforce eating disorder thoughts and their desire to hold on rather than heal. But, I promise healing is always the better choice!

It also makes me wonder whether the body positivity, neutrality, and diversity era was less a true cultural shift and more a response to the feeling that there were no other options, besides acceptance. Now, with GLP-1s being widely framed as a “solution” far beyond their original purpose, it seems the thin pursuit never truly ended.😔 It simply paused when we (the collective) finally realized diets don’t work.

I also want to say clearly that I have seen these medications be truly helpful and appropriate for individuals who genuinely need them, under proper medical care.

History tells us that weight-loss “solutions” often come with a cost we don’t fully acknowledge until later, and I can’t help but wonder whether this will be any different.

I can tell you that I am already seeing the negative psychological impact. Makes me just get up everyday fight harder to spread hope and truth. 💙

Kate Winslet says it's 'terrifying' how many people are now on weight loss drugs. The actress revealed her candid thoughts on the phenomenon in a new interview with the 'Sunday Times.'

🩶For years I’ve seen cost keep people from getting recovery support, so I decided to change that.

Earlier this year, I moved my online course to a Pay What You Can model. Since then, people from across the U.S. and around the world have been able to join, learn, and take steps toward a life of freedom they once thought was out of reach.

🌎Most countries have very few resources for finding freedom from food and body struggles. And even here in the U.S., treatment can feel out of reach financially, especially in today’s economy.

You don’t have to stay stuck in the exhausting cycle of shame, secrecy, and overwhelm. There is a way forward.
