So excited for October and the change in season 🍁. October is one of my favorite months because we get to celebrate two great communities- individuals with Down Syndrome/their families, and Physical Therapists!

As many of you know, I have been involved with the cause at as both a volunteer and now board member for years.

GiGi’s mission has always been dear to my heart- to help serve the local Down Syndrome community in Houston with free programming, tutoring and outreach services from prenatal stages through adulthood! GiGi’s aims to stop the stigma/negativity surrounding DS diagnosis.
To thank GiGi’s for all their support and love, we will be donating a percentage of new patient evaluations for the month of October as a small token of our appreciation 💙💛

Physical therapy is an asset to help your child develop, and learn correct and efficient motor patterns to move without pain or constraint like we do as adults. The role of a physical therapist in your child’s life is vital to help them learn to grow, move and explore their worlds 🌎 from the lense of movement and function of their muscles- we want them to move as they are intended!

MD referral to see a physical therapist can be for a variety of reasons; the majority of them are made because your child may be demonstrating decreased ability to move their muscles 💪 as expected for age, they may be tight in certain muscle groups in their body, or they are delayed with meeting age-appropriate gross motor milestones.

We are here as an advocate for your child to one day be an independent, happy adult. Though we may begin seeing your child at a young age, we are building the foundation of movement they will use for the rest of their lives- our goal is to make your child independent and successful in their world!

Welcome to our “About us” series! We’d love for you to get to know a little bit more about us, and what our treatment philosophy is!

From an early age, I knew that I wanted to work with children/in pediatrics. I have worked as a nanny, camp counselor and even a mascot 🎭 at the Cleveland Children’s Museum while leading group tours for children!

My mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was a young child, and it deeply impacted my heart ❤️ and mind with a passion to pursue healthcare and help others. In high school, I tore my ACL playing basketball and that was my first real interaction with a Physical Therapist- I knew that is what I wanted to do with my life that very minute!

Physical Therapy is a Doctorate 🥼degree, we attend college (undergraduate) and then graduate school. My undergraduate degrees was in Psychology, and my thesis in graduate school centered around the self-perceptions of parents of children and children with special needs.

I have always had a passion for children with special needs and supporting/advocating for their families. I have been blessed to work as a Physical Therapist for 10 years in Texas in both the hospital (NICU) and Home Health settings. I am also a proud board member and volunteer with a non-profit Down Syndrome Achivement center located in Houston, Texas. I love what I do! consideryourkidspt.com.
