It’s International Play Therapy Week! Today, we are highlighting another play therapist in our practice, her reason for loving play therapy, and her favorite toy in the playroom (see slides). Leslie Boutte is an LPC Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, EMDR and TF-CBT Certified, and an EMDR Consultant-in-Training.

It’s International Play Therapy Week! Did you know that all of the therapists at IHCC are either Registered Play Therapists (RPT) or Registered Play Therapist Supervisors (RPT-S)? The Association for Play Therapy credentials licensed clinical mental health professionals with specialized training and experience in play therapy after extensive play therapy instruction, clinical experience, and supervision. defines play therapy as "the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained play therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development.” At IHCC, we are passionate about providing play therapy to our clients and love seeing it work every day!

Our practice is so excited to share that we are now an APT approved training provider. This means that we will be able to provide trainings to current and future play therapists for APT continuing education credits.
