Our Story - Firehouse AED
Firehouse AED was founded with the simple principle that we can save lives. Modern technology has come to the point where small portable devices are capable of interrogating a person’s heart rhythm and making split-second decisions that can save a life. Of course, we are talking about AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators). This technology was previously only available to first responders, but is now accessible and easily used by you! If you can open a shoe box and press a button, you can use an AED. The only problem with AEDs is that there are not enough available. We are on a mission to fix this problem. With the proper device and training by our experts, you will feel confident that your family is covered should they ever fall victim to what is America’s most likely cause of death.
Our founder and President, Dr. Alex Black, has taken care of hundreds if not thousands of cardiac arrest patients. “As a former Dallas Firefighter/Paramedic, and now an Emergency Medicine Physician, I have witnessed firsthand the life-saving benefit of having an AED in your home or business. Many times, I have had patients walk out of the hospital who would have otherwise not have survived simply because an AED was close at hand.” At Firehouse, we are staffed with the front-line firefighters and paramedics who you will see at your home if you call 911.
These same first responders will come to your home before an emergency happens and train you on how to save the lives of your family and friends should the need ever arise. We only choose and train the elite members of your local emergency crews who are dedicated to making the public aware of this life-saving technology. We will come to your home or business, device in hand, and not leave until you are comfortable and satisfied that you know what to do should an emergency arise.
