God is so so GOOD!
On December 6th, the most precious baby boy was born… Bear Garrett McCleskey was born into his mommy and daddy’s arms in the comfort of their own home! 🙌🙏🩶
✨Weight: 9lb 12oz (my biggest baby to deliver this year) 🎉
✨20inches long
BUT Bears birth story is different than most that I encounter as a midwife. Because of the grace of God, strength to not give up, the many years of skills that I’ve learned (always learning) and my amazing birth assistant we have a happy ending. 🙏
Above are pictures from labor and it was such a beautiful thing to get to be apart of. She trusted her body, her amazing husband never left her side and was there for anything she needed (as pictured 😍) if you swipe to the end of all the pictures you can see the most perfect picture of Audra, Garrett, Judson and Bear in the hospital after Audra was stable from all of her blood loss.
Audra experienced one of the worst postpartum hemorrhages I’ve ever witnessed in my midwifery career. After birthing her baby like a warrior she began to bleed very fast and none of my emergency meds were stopping it. Within 1 minute of the birth I knew we needed more help and I told my birth assistant to call 911. For the next 15 mins while waiting for EMS to arrive I performed bimanual uterine compressions to try to get the bleeding to stop while using all the emergency medications we could use. I’ll never forget Audra begging God to keep her safe and to protect her babies. Audra’s strength was truly supernatural… the lord had her and protected her during a time that she could have lost her life. I praise God every single day for her protection and the immediate team we became when the emergency occurred.
Her story is unique and different than most birth stories you see and I want people to know that sometimes our “birth plan” deviates from what we wanted or had planned but most important is that mom and baby are still here today to live out the purpose God has for their lives. 😍
I pray you know how AMAZING you are always! I am so blessed to get to be your midwife and friend… love you forever 🫶
