GHM Meditation and Fasting Month is being observed 1/1/26 - 1/31/26 I've enclosed the various types of meditation, each with unique techniques and benefits. Choose one or more to use during the month of January or all year long 2026.
1. Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness meditation is rooted in Buddhist traditions and focuses on being present in the moment. Practitioners observe their thoughts, sensations, and emotions without judgment, cultivating self-awareness and emotional balance.
2. Mantra Meditation
In mantra meditation, individuals focus on a specific word, phrase, or sound (mantra) to help center their thoughts. This practice can enhance concentration and promote a deeper state of relaxation.
3. Loving-Kindness Meditation
This type of meditation involves silently repeating phrases that express good wishes toward oneself and others.
4. Guided Meditation
In guided meditation, a teacher or a recording leads the practitioner through the meditation process.
5. Body Scan Meditation
This technique involves mentally scanning the body for areas of tension or discomfort. Practitioners focus on each part of the body, promoting relaxation and awareness of physical sensations.

6. Transcendental Meditation
Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a specific form of mantra meditation that involves the use of a personal mantra.
7. Zen Meditation (Zazen)
Zen meditation, or Zazen, is a seated meditation practice that emphasizes observing thoughts and sensations while maintaining a specific posture.
8. Chakra Meditation
This practice focuses on the body's energy centers (chakras) and aims to balance and align them.
9. Vipassana Meditation
It involves observing thoughts and sensations to gain insight into the nature of reality and the self.
10. Qigong and Tai Chi
These practices combine meditation, relaxation, physical movement, and breathing exercises. They are often used to promote health and well-being while cultivating mindfulness.
