Parkland Community Health Plan was proud to celebrate the students and families of Albert C. Black Jr. STEAM Academy at their 2026 Field Day and End-of-Year Award Ceremonies in South Dallas.

As a community partner, we are proud to encourage healthy habits, physical activity, and community connection. Events like Field Day help reinforce the importance of physical activity and healthy habits for children at an early age while creating positive opportunities for students to learn, grow, and celebrate together.

Many thanks go out to Principal Stencer, Ms. Lawrence, and the entire Albert C. Black Jr. STEAM Academy team for their dedication to students and families in our community. Congratulations to all students on a successful school year, and Parkland Community Health Plan hopes everyone has a safe and healthy summer!

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice, courage, and dedication will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Day, we pause to reflect with gratitude and keep their families and loved ones in our thoughts.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a time to remember and honor the servicemen and women who gave their lives for our country.

Shoutout to every mom, dad, and baby who came out and made our Community Baby shower one to remember!

Recently we spent a morning with our community partners Park South YMCA and WISH (Women & Infants Specialty Health)pouring into our community with breastfeeding education, car seat safety, doula and midwife info, games, prizes, and good food. Our community partners showed up and showed out.

This is what PCHP is all about. Keep an eye out for our upcoming events.

There is nothing quite like a room full of families supporting families.

Parkland Community Health Plan recently joined forces with WISH (Women and Infants Specialty Health) and Park South YMCA to host a community baby shower for moms, dads, newborns, and families across Dallas in honor of Black Maternal Health Week.

The room was full of breastfeeding education, doula and midwife information, car seat safety resources, diaper giveaways, and the kind of community connection that growing families deserve.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, and to our partners at WISH and Park South YMCA for making it such a special morning for our community.

Happy National Nurses Week to the nurses who care for our community with compassion, strength, and dedication every day.

Thank you for the difference you make in the lives of our members and families.

Your to-do list has everyone else on it. Make sure you are on it, too.

A preventive checkup is one of the best things you can do for your health. It gives your doctor a chance to catch problems early, update your screenings, and answer any questions you have been meaning to ask.

If it has been more than a year since your last checkup, today is a good day to schedule one. Learn more about preventive screenings and the care you may need: https://www.cdc.gov/chronic-disease/prevention/preventive-care.html

You may have heard about changes involving Children’s Health.

Here’s what you need to know:
You don’t need to switch plans. Your coverage with Parkland Community Health Plan is not changing, and you can continue to stay with PCHP.

There are no changes to your current provider access before June 1, 2026. After that, certain Children’s Health facilities may be out of network. We are still trying to reach an agreement with Children’s Health and will keep you informed along the way.

If you have questions, call us — we can help walk you through your options, including continued care or exception requests.

Learn more at https://parklandhealthplan.com/childrens-health-update, or call 1-888-672-2277 (TTY 711)

Yesterday, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with the community at Martin Weiss Recreation Center through music, culture, and dance.

Many in attendance are grandparents or caregivers who care for children in our STAR and CHIP communities. Their love, guidance, and dedication help strengthen families across generations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating culture, connection, and community.
