More things that bring me joy: that I’ve managed to keep this plant alive for 18 years. Many have not survived me, but this one has and it’s a beacon of hope for me. When I think I can’t, I remember this plant that whispers, “you can.”

Things that bring me joy: puppies! Always puppies. I was lucky enough to be able to present at our local play therapy association’s workshop on racial healing. We had therapy pups during the break. It was amazing!!

We are so excited to announce our very first workshop that will provide CEs for the big three:
Your license. EMDRIA. Association for Play Therapy!
You don't want to miss this one. Space is limited. It will be highly experiential and didactic!
We have put so much planning into this for literally YEARS!
We will have hard copies of all materials for you.
We will properly feed you, snacks, drinks, and lunch of course!
We will do lots of activities, have live demonstrations, and break out into small groups.

In this workshop, we will be reviewing different theoretical models to understand racial identity development and how we as humans move through different stages of change to understand our own racial identity as well as those of others. We will discuss how to create anti-racist clinical spaces for the clinical session as well as supervision and consultation. Lastly, we will look at body and sensory oriented techniques to aid in healing racial wounds. Time will be reserved for questions and answers to process the material presented.

Therapy for tweens, teens, and anyone feeling the discomfort of our present times. You aren't alone, pandemics are hard!

7 Reasons Parents Seek Out Therapy for Their Child

As the practice owner, I receive calls daily from loving and concerned parents. Sometimes these parents are ready for a change in the home environment and schedule the first appointment as soon as possible. Sometimes these parents know something needs to change, want to know if therapy can help, but have never reached out to a therapist before and perhaps feel vulnerable making this important first call.
