🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀
Early detection saves lives. While we honor those who have fought and those still fighting breast cancer, it's also a powerful reminder to take charge of our own health.
One of the simplest yet most important things we can do is perform monthly breast self-exams. It only takes a few minutes and can help you become familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel—making it easier to notice changes.
💗 Look for:
• Lumps or thickening
• Changes in size or shape
• Skin dimpling or puckering
• Ni**le discharge or inversion
• Redness or swelling
Set a reminder. Do it monthly. Encourage your loved ones to do the same.
Together, through awareness and action, we can make a difference. 💪

Knowledge is power—and when it comes to your sexual health, it can also be protection.

STI Awareness Month is a reminder to take charge of your health by getting tested, having open and honest conversations with partners, and breaking the stigma around sexually transmitted infections. STIs are more common than many people think, and in many cases, they show no symptoms. Testing is quick, confidential, and one of the most important steps in staying healthy.

This month, let’s raise awareness, spread facts (not fear), and encourage each other to get tested.

Protect yourself. Protect your partners. Get tested.

Call us at Amy Martin, MD to schedule an appointment to get tested and take charge of your sexual health. 214-764-5585

🌼 March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 🌼
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age, yet it often goes undiagnosed for years. This painful condition occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, causing inflammation, scarring, and severe discomfort.

✨ Why Get Checked?
• Early diagnosis can help prevent the condition from worsening.
• It can explain symptoms like chronic pelvic pain, heavy periods, and infertility.
• With the right treatment, you can experience significant relief and improve your quality of life.

💛 If you’ve been experiencing ongoing pelvic pain, painful periods, or other unexplained symptoms, don’t ignore them. This March, prioritize your health by scheduling an evaluation.

📅 Book an appointment today and take a proactive step toward managing your reproductive health.

Did you know? Estrogen plays a vital role in protecting your heart! Here’s how:

✅ Supports Healthy Blood Vessels – Estrogen helps keep blood vessels flexible, promoting better circulation.
✅ Reduces Bad Cholesterol (LDL) – It helps lower “bad” cholesterol while boosting “good” cholesterol (HDL).
✅ Anti-Inflammatory Benefits – Estrogen can help reduce inflammation, which is linked to heart disease.
✅ May Lower Heart Disease Risk – Women generally have a lower risk of heart disease before menopause, thanks to estrogen’s protective effects.

While estrogen is beneficial, heart health is about more than just hormones! A balanced diet, regular exercise, and routine checkups are key.

Have questions about heart health and hormones? We’re here to help! Call us today to schedule an appointment. ❤️
