National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD) is observed on the first day of Spring every year. It was initiated in 2007 and has been successful in promoting and educating Native people about HIV and AIDS.
On this day, we encourage all Native communities to plan events to promote HIV testing and continue the education of HIV and AIDS. It is also a day to honor those who are infected and affected by the disease, as well as to honor those who have passed as a result of AIDS-related complications.

Most of the Race / Ethnicity Americans have been directly affected by HIV / AIDS as the epidemic’s start.
Many challenges add to the epidemic between different / Ethnicity, including lack of access to proper health care, poverty, a large amount of s*xually transmitted infections, smaller s*xual networks, lack of information about the situation, and stigma.
