"The entire educational process must be carried out with love, which is perceptible in every disciplinary measure and which does not instill any fear. And the most effective educational method is not the word of instruction but the living example without which all words remain useless.” - St. Edith Stein

Mental health preparation for college is important and can offset the intensity of mental health issues.

1. Get a physical! Many mental health issues have medical causes and medical causes should be ruled out first.

2. Create a schedule that not only includes your class schedule but also times to eat, sleep, workout, pray and socialize.

3. Establish a consistent eating and sleeping routine for at least 5 days a week. This will keep your body healthy while your mind is busy learning.

4. Find 3 healthy friendships. These are friends who will support your efforts to be healthy.

5. Become familiarized with the counseling center on campus, their policies, and wait times.

Want to meet off of campus or not at your campus counseling center? Get started today with in-person or virtual appointments!
