Good news! Kristina Robertson, LCSW, LCDC is currently accepting new clients at Onward Therapy and Wellness.

Kristina is EMDR-trained and works with adults navigating trauma, problems with substance use, anxiety, chronic stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her approach is warm, relational, compassionate, and grounded in helping clients feel safe enough to do meaningful healing work.

Healing isn’t always dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like:

• pausing before reacting
• noticing your body sooner
• asking for help without apologizing
• resting before you completely crash
• realizing you don’t actually have to earn care

A lot of people think growth should feel obvious and life-changing all the time.

But in trauma work, the deepest shifts are often quiet.

Your nervous system starts choosing safety where it once chose survival.

That matters.

Especially if you grew up feeling like your needs were “too much,” your emotions were inconvenient, or your worth depended on how useful you were to everyone else.

Today’s reminder:
Progress is not measured only by productivity.
Sometimes progress is responding to yourself differently than you used to.

Sometimes anxiety isn’t “overthinking.”
Sometimes it’s a nervous system that forgot what safety feels like.

A lot of high-functioning adults are walking around looking completely fine on the outside while internally feeling braced for impact.

Replying to emails? Done.
Helping everyone else? Of course.
Actually relaxing? Absolutely not.

One of the biggest misconceptions about healing is the idea that insight alone creates change. Insight matters. But if your body still feels unsafe, your mind will keep sounding the alarm.

This is why trauma-focused therapy often goes beyond talking. Approaches like EMDR, somatic work, and attachment-focused therapy help create safety not just intellectually—but physiologically.

A small practice for today:
The next time you notice yourself rushing, pause and ask: “What would happen if I didn’t treat this moment like an emergency?”

Andrea brings experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings which informs her work with clients who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by patterns they’ve tried to change on their own.

Tascha brings over 30 years of experience as a therapist and has worked everywhere from outpatient settings to higher levels of care. She supports adults and families through life transitions, complex mental health needs, and the everyday challenges of being human.

Her specialties include trauma and PTSD, addiction, bipolar disorder, OCD, women’s issues, chronic health concerns, stress, and anger management.

Rooted in connection and collaboration, Tascha integrates modalities like CBT, CPT, TF-CBT, MBCT, Attachment-based therapy, Narrative Therapy, REBT, MI, and SFBT to create a personalized and empowering experience for each client.
