🍁FALL 2026 “ANGIE”
ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP 🧐
The Angie & Avery Foundation is proud to announce its 3rd year of awarding the “Angie” Athletic Scholarship to students attending any Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the United States for Fall 2026.
This is a one-time scholarship award of $500, issued directly to selected recipients.
📅 Important Dates
January 31st: Application deadline & document submission deadline
* February 1, 2026 – Scholarship recipients notified privately
* February 7, 2026 – Thank-you letter submission deadline
* February 9, 2026 – Winners announced on social media
* August 15, 2026 – Payment dates sent to recipients
* October 1 – December 1, 2026 – Scholarship payments distributed via Zelle
✉️ Thank You Letter Requirement
All scholarship recipients must submit a thank-you letter via email by February 7, 2026 in order to receive the scholarship funds.

🌟 Honoring Angie’s Legacy
Andrea McQueen, affectionately known as “Angie,” was diagnosed with chronic heart failure and passed away eight years later from a heart attack at the age of 37. She was a devoted mother of three and an exceptional athlete.
Angie competed in basketball as a center and forward at Darlington Middle & High School and Marlboro County High School. She also played volleyball and excelled in track and field, placing first in the majority of her events, including:
* 100-yard dash
* 100 hurdles
* 400 hurdles
* Long jump
* Triple jump
* Shot put
* Women’s 4x400 relay
In honor of her legacy, the Angie & Avery Foundation proudly offers this scholarship to student-athletes pursuing careers in sports and health-related fields.
🎓 Scholarship Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
* Be at least 18 years old at the time of application or before February 1, 2026
* Be an incoming college freshman for Fall 2026
* Have received an acceptance letter to an HBCU for Fall 2026
* Be a current or former high school athlete (any sport)
* Be majoring in one of the following fields:
* Sport Management
* Kinesiology
* Physical Therapy
* Physical Education
* Sport Communication
* Athletic Training
* Nutrition
* Psychology
* Sports Medicine
* Athletic Administration
* Personal Training
* Sport Marketing
* Coaching
* Exercise Physiology
* Health Sciences
* Recreational Facilities Management
* Sport Analytics
* Sport Ethics
* Sports Studies
* Be a United States citizen
* Be enrolled (or plan to enroll) as a full-time student
📄 Required Documentation
Applicants must submit:
* College acceptance letter
* Fall 2026 class schedule
* Proof of qualifying academic program
* Photos of participation in high school sports
* Proof of date of birth (ID or birth certificate)
