McKenzie Madill walks us through the Well Women Exam Visit.

McKenzie grew up in a small, rural town in northeast Texas, she had big dreams of creating a better life for herself someday. She worked four jobs to put herself through college at Texarkana College and Texas A&M University-Texarkana where she graduated with a B.S. in biology. She later went on to Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas where she completed physician assistant school.
McKenzie enjoys developing trusting relationships with her patients.

PREECLAMPSIA is a serious medical condition that can occur about midway through pregnancy (after 20 weeks). 🚩⚠️

⭕️It can affect several organs in the body and be dangerous for both the mom and baby.

⭕️Because of these risks, preeclampsia needs to be treated by a healthcare provider.

Congratulations Dr. Khandaker!! Best Doctors Award 2022!!

Dr. Sadia Khandaker was born in Toronto, Canada. She moved to Dallas in 2017. Graduated of Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario (Canada) with a Bachelor of Science (with Honors) in Life Sciences, and a minor in French Studies. She then went on to complete her medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine and completed her clinical rotations both in the US and in Canada. Dr. Khandaker received her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

At Women’s Specialty Center we provide great medical care with love and dignity to all our patients.

Celynne grew up in the Oklahoma City area. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's in Psychology and a Minor in Biology.
Prior to applying for PA school, Celynne worked as a medical assistant at a clinic in Oklahoma City specializing in women’s health. She then attended the Physician Assistant program at the University of Oklahoma, School of Community Medicine in Tulsa.
Her passion for women’s health began as a medical assistant and continued to grow throughout PA school.

MENOPAUSE

Every woman's body goes through a gradual transition during menopause: perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause.

- Perimenopause: in this stage, the ovaries ⬇️ the production of estrogen and symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, va**nal dryness and mood swings occur. During this stage, the menstrual cycle becomes irregular and the flow can increase or decrease🩸.

- Menopause: in this phase, menstruation stops but women can still get pregnant; even 1 year after the last menstrual period🤰🏻.

- Postmenopause: due to the ⬇️ in estrogen, there may be loss of bone mass (osteoporosis)🦴 and alteration in cholesterol levels. For this reason, it is important to go to a medical appointment to be able to make lifestyle recommendations to improve quality of life and prevent complications.

A disorder in which tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside the uterus.

With endometriosis, the tissue can be found on the ovaries, fallopian tubes or the intestines.

The most common symptoms are pain and menstrual irregularities.
