PLEASE PLEASE 🙏 PLEASE READ THE BELOW ..greatly appreciate it. Cuts in Medicare will further limit Medicare patients from being able to get medical care as more physicians will not be able to keep their doors open. Since past 20 years there have been 30% cuts to physicians however increase in pay to hospitals and big pharma!!

Support H.R. 10073:
Protect Patient Access and Stabilize Medicare Payments

CMS has finalized the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, which includes a 2.83% reduction in physician reimbursement. Lawmakers in both the House and Senate are focusing on the lame-duck session to address this issue. This week, a bipartisan group of 41 Senators called for similar action in the Senate to reverse the cut, reform MACRA by eliminating budget neutrality requirements, and implement inflation-based payment updates.

H.R. 10073, the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2024, has gained 52 co-sponsors in the House. This bill would reverse the reimbursement cut and provide a positive payment update based on half of the Medicare Economic Index, the most accurate measure of inflationary pressures on medical practices.

It takes less than 2 minutes to contact your U.S. Representative and urge them to immediately cosponsor the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2024 (H.R. 10073), bipartisan legislation that would stop the looming Medicare payment cut. Your voice matters!

I believe that any candidate for the highest office in the USA should get formal neuropsych testing. 🧓🧑‍⚕️ Memory loss is a common issue as we age and often goes unrecognized. Ensuring our leaders are cognitively fit is crucial for the well-being of our nation. 🏛️

I'm not saying either President has memory loss issues, but it’s reasonable for them both to be evaluated. These assessments should be conducted by specialists in memory loss such as , Neurologists, or Geriatric Psychiatrists. 🧠🔍👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

As a Geriatrician and Palliative Care physician, I sometimes encounter anger in my patients and their caregivers. 🏥 This emotion, more often than not, is deeply intertwined with grief. Whether it's the grief of losing a loved one, the decline of one's own health, or the fear of the unknown, manifests in many forms.

Understanding that anger can be a mask for grief allows us to approach it with compassion and empathy. 💜 It’s crucial for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to recognize this. When we see anger, we must pause and consider what lies beneath it. This understanding can transform our interactions, helping us to respond with patience and kindness rather than reacting with anger ourselves.Our patients and their families may be suffering in ways that aren’t immediately visible. By approaching them with empathy, we can create a safe space for them to express their true feelings and begin their healing journey. 🌿

Wanted to share a positive story I just read:
There was a farmer who grew excellent quality corn. Every year he won the award for the best grown corn. One year a 📰 🗞 📰 🗞 reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. “How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?” the reporter asked.
“Why sir,” said the farmer, “Didn’t you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening 🌽 🍿 🌽 🍿 and swirls it from field to field. If my grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn.”
