Are you following the Ayurvedic Dosha
Clock?
Ayurveda teaches us that we are a part of nature.
The Ayurvedic Dosha clock helps us get in tune with circadian rhythms. We are in a balanced state when we align our daily rhythms in tune with Nature's rhythms.
Connecting with nature can be simple.
• The Ayurvedic Dosha clock is divided into six four-hour cycles.
Three cycles occur during the day from
sunrise to sunset and three during the night from sunset to sunrise. Each day we cycle through the 3 doshas: Vata, Pitta, Kapha.
• Morning 6-10 AM - KAPHA time, best time for exercise as physical strength is great at this time. Enjoy a light, cooked breakfast.
• Day 10 AM - 2 PM - PITTA time, the sun is at its hottest, our digestion is the strongest.
Eat the largest meal of the day. This is a good time for strategy work.
•Afternoon 2-6 PM - VATA time, a time of movement and connection. A great time for meeting, sending emails and communicate with others, another good time for meditation and exercise.
• Evening 6-10PM - This is again KAPHA time. Eat a light meal between 5-7 PM, slow down, Avoid exposure to screens. Go to sleep around 10pm
• Night 10 PM -2 AM - This is again PITTA time. Pitta at night is not intended for digestion but rather repair and transformation of bodily tissues. This is the time when our mind is in a subconscious state.
• Morning 2-6 AM - VATA time. our sleep gets lighter and our body starts to prepare itself for the elimination process. Wake up before the sunrise.
Planning your day according to nature's rhythm can help you achieve optimal health
