I didn’t expect grief to arrive with guilt in tow. It shows up quietly—those replayed moments, the “Could I have…” questions, the knot in your chest. I feel it too. And I’ve learned that naming the guilt, talking about it, and offering myself simple compassion are the first steps toward easing its hold.

If you’re carrying that weight, know this: guilt is a sign of how deeply you loved, not a measure of failure. Try one small thing today—write a letter you don’t have to send, say what you need to a trusted person, or imagine setting the weight down for a moment. Forgiveness and gentle rituals can help us find breathing room and, slowly, hope.
