Many adolescents, especially in remote areas, avoid seeking sexual and reproductive health services due to fear of judgment or lack of privacy.

That’s why adolescent-friendly services matter.

They create safe spaces where adolescents can ask questions, learn, and receive care without fear.
Let’s build systems that listen, support, and respond.

At Health Access Connect, we believe geography should never determine access to health care .

Nanziri Getrude, a resident of Senero landing site in Kalangala District, is one of the thousands of Ugandans who can now access essential healthcare services without the financial and physical burden of traveling long distances.

Through our Medicycles program, we bring government doctors, nurses, and medicines directly to remote communities every month.

Bringing healthcare closer, one community at a time.

From testing, treatment to health education, these moments are how stronger health systems are built right where people live.

Every visit is a story.
Every interaction is a chance to change a life.

That’s why we connect remote communities to health care.

Family planning plays a critical role in advancing both household economic stability and national development.

We examine how access to family planning services enables families to make informed decisions, better allocate resources, and invest in long-term wellbeing.

We remain committed to expanding access and supporting informed reproductive choice in remote communities.

More than 100 patients served. One community reached. A big step forward.

We recently held our first integrated outreach clinic in Butebeyi Village, Namayingo District in partnership with the dedicated health workers from Mutumba HC III.

Through this outreach, 115 patients accessed essential health services closer to home reducing the need for long, costly journeys to distant health facilities.

This is what integrated care looks like:

✅ Bringing health services directly to communities
✅ Working hand-in-hand with local health workers
✅ Removing barriers to access

At Health Access Connect, we believe healthcare access should not depend on where you live.

As part of our ongoing efforts to promote adolescent health, we conducted Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) community dialogues in Kinoni Zone Stage and Lwengenyi villages in Lwengo District in collaboration with Kinoni HC III and Lwengenyi HC II.

We engaged adolescents in these communities on key issues that affect adolescents, including body changes, menstrual hygiene, prevention of teenage pregnancy, awareness about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and many more .

By bringing these discussions closer to the community, we are building a supportive environment where young people can access accurate information and make informed decisions about their health .

Strengthening adolescent health starts with empowering those on the frontlines.

We recently conducted onsite Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) training for health workers at Naanywa HC III, Kakoma HC III, Kiwangala HC IV, and Katovu HC III in Lwengo District.

These sessions focused on strengthening their capacity to deliver adolescent-friendly, responsive, and accessible health care services.

Juliet wanted to use family planning, but the nearest health facility required UGX 10,000 for transport, and she sometimes even lacked UGX 3,000 for an injectable at the nearest pharmacy, making it difficult for her to access family planning services.

Through community-based family planning outreaches supported by Health Access Connect, women like Juliet are now able to access family planning information and services in their communities.
