You know you’re working with an executive function-focused SLP when…

✔️ Your child starts thinking ahead
✔️ Morning routines actually feel doable
✔️ Social cues don’t always need explaining because they’re learning to pause, check in, and adapt

You didn’t just get tips.

You got a deeper understanding of how your child’s brain works and how to support their independence one small moment at a time.

🌱 The changes are subtle.
But they stack up in the most powerful ways.
💬 Tag a parent who might be seeing these wins too or one who needs the reminder that this progress is possible.

We hear it all the time: “If you’re not teaching my child to ‘act appropriately,’ how will they learn social skills?”

Here’s the thing—we don’t teach social skills the way most people think about them.

Instead, we teach:
🧠 Social executive function skills—helping kids understand, plan, and problem-solve in social situations.
👀 Social communication skills—understanding their own communication style, interpreting others, and making informed choices.
💬 Self-advocacy—learning to express their needs, set boundaries, and navigate relationships in a way that honors their neurotype.

Our goal is never to make a child sound neurotypical—it’s to equip them with the tools to engage authentically, confidently, and on their own terms.

That number is a hard pill to swallow.

But we can support our neurodivergent, ADHD kids by celebrating with them how special they are. They are not the sum of their mistakes but are actually uniquely gifted with their beautiful brain.

And some things can be challenging like executive function skills. But we can use their strengths to help support what is challenging.

Let’s make 2024 the year we can put more of those strengths based messages out to ADHD and neurodivergent kids.

Is your daughter struggling and you’re not sure why? Let’s help her thrive with the right support. 💖

Boys are getting more frequently diagnosed due to more awareness of characteristics in young boys but our girls are getting overlooked (15% of boys vs. 8% of girls ages 3-17). It’s time to raise awareness and make sure every girl gets the support she needs. Early support helps our girls thrive and see how beautiful their unique brain is.

I’m here to help your daughter embrace her unique brain and develop the skills she needs to thrive. Reach out for a consultation today by clicking the link in bio – let’s celebrate neurodiversity together! 💬✨

“Can you diagnose my child with Childhood Apraxia of Speech?”
Being able to use verbal speech and imitate are the key indicators in order to provide a diagnosis.

“What if my child is non-speaking and I think it may be due to apraxia?”
If your child is non-speaking or minimally verbal but displays characteristics of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), a qualified SLP can provide a diagnosis of Suspected Childhood Apraxia of Speech (sCAS).

Suspect your child has CAS? Book a consult with me and we can discuss further! Link in bio.

As a therapist for neurodivergent kids, I’m going to put it out there because it’s not recognized as often. And this is something to be celebrated!

If neurodivergence is a different way that the brain processes, learns and interprets information and childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) has neurological underpinnings, then we can conclude that CAS is a type of neurodivergence.

And that’s ok! Because that helps us as therapists and caregivers know that kids with CAS process and learn communication differently and we need to ADAPT. Provide therapies that adapt to motor learning and motor planning instead of providing traditional articulation therapies.

Calling all parents of Neurodivergent and Neurotypical kids!

We can support our kids well when we can connect with what they like to do.

Lining up toys? Line up with them!
Spinning around? Spin with them?
Digging in the dirt? Dig with them.

Be fun with whatever interests them. You will see connection and relationships develop and it’ll be more natural to support them ❤️
