It’s official - I’m on maternity leave! 🤱✨
Our family of four is about to become five, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our third little chonk very soon! This magical time calls for stepping away from work to focus on what matters most.
I’ll be taking a break to bond with our newest addition and soak up all those precious newborn moments. For those asking about availability, I’ll be ready to take on new clients starting January 2026.
Thank you for all your love and support during this special season. Can’t wait to share more of this beautiful journey with you all! 💕

💛 How Tummy Time Can Transform Feeding Success 💛

Did you know that those tummy time moments aren’t just building your baby’s strength - they’re also setting the foundation for better feeding? Here’s the amazing connection:

**Improved cervical extension** - opens the neck fully, creating space for optimal jaw movement and wider latch

**Enhanced tongue mobility** - tummy time promotes tongue movement since the hyoid bone (where tongue muscles attach) is connected to neck positioning
**Releases tension** - in the neck, jaw, and floor of the mouth that can restrict feeding

**Builds strength & coordination** - the neck, shoulder, and arm muscles babies use to position themselves and maintain a good latch

**Additional benefits research shows:**
✨ Enhances the rooting reflex - helping baby find the breast/bottle
✨ Develops oral motor skills needed for coordinated sucking
✨ Improves head control for sustained feeding
✨ Creates comfortable feeding positions as baby adapts to movement
✨ Reduces gas/reflux discomfort for calmer feeds

When we understand that the hyoid bone serves as the foundation for tongue movement and is held in position by muscles above and below, tummy time becomes so much more than exercise - it’s feeding preparation!

Your baby’s whole body works together, and tummy time helps create the optimal conditions for comfortable, effective feeding. 💕

❗️ Size matters: When your fl**ge is too big for your ni**le ❗️

A 28mm fl**ge on a 13mm ni**le? Something definitely isn’t right! Does your fl**ge look like this? 👀

The wrong fl**ge size can lead to:
• Ni**le damage and pain
• Decreased milk output
• Slow breast emptying
• Supply issues
• Clogged ducts
• Increased risk of mastitis and infections

Your comfort matters! If you ar**la being pulled in or excessive space like this example, it’s time for a size check!

Join the “No Helmet Needed” Club! ⛑️

It’s amazing how much can change in just one week with early intervention through individualized exercises and targeted repositioning. This family has been working diligently to help baby Z gain range of motion, strength, and achieve a more rounded head shape.

We’re thrilled to see his progress and can’t wait to check in next week!

# When Tummy Time Is a Struggle: There’s a Better Way 💗

We all know tummy time is important, but what do you do when it doesn’t come easily? When your baby screams and cries? When it’s a struggle and a fight?

I’ll tell you what I don’t recommend… just powering through. Forcing it will likely end up biting us in the long run.

Instead, let’s get down to the root of the problem.
Let’s work together to figure out why it’s so hard. And learn how to make it more fun!

# # Gentle Approaches to Try:
- Start with tummy time on your chest where baby can see your face
- Try providing support at their shoulders and elbows to help them focus on lifting their head
- Use a tummy time wedge to give them a boost
Practice rolling in and out of tummy time to build their tolerance and strength
- Keep sessions super short at first (even 30 seconds counts!)
- Time it right: not when hungry, tired, or just after feeding

# # Listen to Your Baby:
Is there discomfort? Do they have tension? Reflux? Sensory sensitivity? Sometimes what looks like “hating tummy time” is your baby communicating something important.

Remember: Every baby develops at their own pace. Building a positive relationship with movement matters more than hitting arbitrary milestones by specific dates.

This is for my pumping moms… do you have a back up plan for if your power goes out and your unable to use or charge your breast pump? Our community had some great suggestions in the stories.

I think everyone should have a hand pump just in case, but y’all should also feel comfortable with hand expression if needed.

Stay warm out there! Do you have anything to add here?
