Congratulations to Amber Gemmell, M.S., Senior Genetic Counselor in the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Genetics Program, for being honored with the Pinnacle Award for Innovation at the inaugural UT Southwestern Pinnacle Awards ceremony this summer.

Ms. Gemmell developed the NextGen Counseling Education Program, an outreach and training program that provides online lessons to aspiring genetic counselors.

This summer, our Genetic Counseling program leaders attended the Genetic Counselor Educators Association Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia!

Program Director, Samantha Greenberg, Ph.D., led a presentation on advocacy in program operations. Cheyla Clark, MPH, M.S., CGC, Director of Outreach and Engagement, participated on the education committee, contributing to the planning of this year's conference.
