Our Physician Assistant students have the opportunity to interview mock patients, create a differential diagnosis, and ultimately write a SOAP note! 🩺🩻 Sometimes there's a little fun in the process! This step happens prior to interactions with standardized patients (SPs) and ultimately real patients.

Riley Phipps, a UT Southwestern Master of Prosthetics-Orthotics alumnus, is proof that dreams come true when you follow your spark! ✨

As a double leg amputee, Mr. Phipps expressed, "Being born this way has opened doors that would never have opened. I have met incredible people, made amazing friends, and done things that most people only dream of. On the surface, being a double amputee may look like it’s terrible, but for me, it’s a blessing."

Mr. Phipps earned his master's in 2024 and is currently completing his residency at Hanger Clinic in St. Louis, Missouri.

Congratulations to second year Genetic Counseling student, Emily Helm, who was invited to represent the Association for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Disorders (AMEND) USA alongside AMEND USA's President, John Metzcar. This unique fieldwork opportunity was part of Ms. Helm's rotation at the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society's (NANETS) conference in Austin, Texas.

Samantha Greenberg, Ph.D., M.S., M.P.H., CGC, Program Director for the UT Southwestern Master of Science in Genetic Counseling, presented on germline testing for phaeochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) at this year's NANETS conference.
