Day #4. No power, no eta for repairs. I have a generator thanks to my neighbours running fridges, a gas stove & BBQ grill as well as a charcoal grill. I have hot water. But running out of mental energy. My thanks to all friends and neighbours offering to help but I just need power, the rest is covered.

This is why I do what I do - as a professional case manager, working with seniors, I have hands on approach with clinical and care oversight for my clients, addressing issues as needed and helping with any type of relocation.

It calls itself the nation’s leading “trusted advisory service,” but in reality A Place for Mom is a referral service that is paid large fees by assisted-living facilities and does not independently assess their records.

This is so sad and of course, it's worse here in TX because Medicaid was NOT expanded. For those not in healthcare, you also need to understand EMTALA - anyone showing up in the emergency room HAS to be treated regardless of ability to pay. If they are sick enough, hospital admission occurs, then if they need a lower level of care, there is no insurance coverage and there they sit in the hospital, driving up everyone's costs.
