Dr. Lucy Wallace is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in breast surgical oncology. She completed her general surgery residency and her breast surgical oncology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Following training, she practiced general surgery for six years, with a special interest in breast and endocrine surgery. By using advanced surgical techniques,
including ni**le sparring and hidden scar procedures, Dr. Wallace prioritizes both oncologic and cosmetic outcomes. She wants women to feel whole and like themselves at the completion of treatment. She believes in providing comprehensive and personalized treatment by partnering with each patient, along with members of the care team. Dr. Wallace has a very personal commitment to caring for breast cancer patients, as both her mother and grandmother were affected by the disease. She believes “the future has never been brighter for breast cancer patients; it’s rewarding to be able to usher patients through treatment and into survivorship.” Due to her own family history of breast cancer, she has a special interest in counseling women who are at high-risk for developing breast cancer in the future, helping them make informed decisions about enhanced screening or preventative surgery. In addition to her work as a surgeon, Dr. Wallace has emerged as a leader on Baylor Scott & White’s flagship campus, Baylor University Medical Center. She is the medical director for the Breast Cancer Research and Treatment Center at Baylor-Sammons Cancer Center. Within the Baylor University Medical Center’s Department of Surgery, she served as the breast section chief for 5 years. She currently serves as the program director for the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program, training the next generation of breast specialists. Dr. Wallace has been voted a D Magazine Top Doctor by her peers. She has been featured in Modern Luxury Magazine’s 2023 Dynamic Women Spotlight and 2022 Influential Women in Medicine Spotlight. She has also appeared on numerous local and national media outlets helping to educate the community about breast cancer risk, prevention and treatment.
