Serving suggestion: Savor with friends to relax and enjoy the last moments of summer.

Keto Lavender Lemon Mocktail:
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender (food-grade)
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup sparkling water or club soda
1 tablespoon stevia
Ice cubes
Fresh lavender sprigs and lemon slices for garnish
Instructions:
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat and add the dried lavender to the water. Let it steep for 10-15 minutes to infuse the water with lavender flavor. You can adjust the steeping time depending on how strong you want the lavender to taste.

After steeping, strain the lavender-infused water to remove the lavender buds and let the water cool down to room temperature.

In a pitcher or a shaker, combine the lavender-infused water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and stevia. Stir or shake well until the sweetener is completely dissolved.

Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the lavender lemon mixture over the ice.

Top off the mocktail with sparkling water or club soda to add a refreshing fizziness. Adjust the amount of sparkling water based on your preference for the level of carbonation.

"I just couldn't lose weight - seemed to be gaining slowly over time - I have always been a stick, very thin, but as I was getting older, I was getting 'puffy'. I was not feeling comfortable or confident in my clothes.

I felt like sometimes I was hiding - as I was gaining weight, I'd wear looser clothing and rarely wore my hair up to hide my face/chins. Made me feel very self-conscious.

I just entered the race to run as Secretary/Treasurer of my local realtor association, and the thought of being prominently in front of people made me want to curl up in a ball, the way I looked and felt.

It was right about the time I filled out the application to apply to run that I looked into BeBalanced, and it was my inspiration for doing it.

I realized that starving myself was making my body store everything, and things just escalated - it gave me a lot of perspective and really just got me back to basics..

And to break my obsession with food, I finally looked at food as a means of sustenance and not as a hobby."

You did everything right, followed your diet to a "T", and for a while, it was like the weight was melting off!
So you changed the batteries, got a new scale, borrowed your neighbor's scale, and still nothing.

This is what one of our weight loss coaches had to say:
"It's completely normal to experience fluctuations in weight, especially due to factors such as your menstrual cycle or water retention.

As long as you're averaging a daily loss of around 1/2 pound over the total number of days, you're making progress and on the right track!
Don't let temporary changes on the scale derail your motivation. Keep up the fantastic work because you truly deserve it!"

When I say migraines, I had days I couldn't even get up from bed. I quite literally felt like my brain was going to explode. I did have medication I took for when I felt a migraine was coming on, but it wasn't much better. The medication made me very dizzy, making life impossible.

About a month into the program, I experienced no migraines on my first monthly period, and still, to this day - one year later - I have yet to get a migraine. I threw away my pills!

My migraines disappeared completely, and I attribute this to how I was eating!"

Dawn Cutillo - Our Founder

Dawn Cutillo has always had a passion for health and for helping women look at their overall wellness through the many factors that influence the whole, healthy being. Educated in health and nutrition, Dawn worked in this industry for many years, advising women about how to make proper food choices and develop an exercise structure in order to find the best way to lose weight and achieve optimum health. Over time, she became discouraged as she saw women return to her week after week, feeling defeated as their efforts weren’t paying off, either in the mirror or on the scale.

Dawn knew these women were following their weight loss plans and exercising regularly, and she wanted answers for them. At the same time, Dawn was dealing with her own female-related health issues and inability to lose weight. She set out researching the impact of hormones on our weight, and discovered that key imbalances contribute not only to a person’s inability to lose stubborn weight but also how the same imbalances affect our mood, sleep, skin, and other female-related issues that had always been dealt with separately through the medical community. Dawn partnered with a naturopathic doctor, continued her research and facilitated studies, even spearheading a breast cancer research project showing a link between hormone imbalance and breast cancer. The study was published in the September 2012 issue of the Original Internist.

Ingredients:
1 cup finely chopped white onion
2 cups ripe Roma tomatoes, chopped
