New warnings for unvaccinated pregnant women

It’s time to address a common fear about the COVID-19 vaccine and pregnancy. In a preliminary study of 35,000 vaccinated pregnant women, published in the The New England Journal of Medicine, there were no increases in side effects or negative consequences for babies born. The antibodies provided by the vaccine not only protected the pregnant women, but also their babies. These findings show promise for expecting moms across the globe.

“We’re taking care of more ICU-critical pregnant patients right now than we have ever before in the pandemic. The best way to protect your baby and yourself is for you to get vaccinated,” said Dr. Jessica Ehrig, maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple.

New warnings for unvaccinated pregnant women NBC News’ Kristen Dahlgren reports on experts’ new warnings for pregnant women as high numbers of unvaccinated pregnant women are being hospitalized due to Covid.

While living overseas, Murray received a shocking diagnosis—prostate cancer. He immediately headed home to Austin, Texas, to see his doctor and get further testing. So began his winding journey through several cancer treatments that spanned across multiple continents.

Through it all, Murray’s biggest ally was his urologist, Dr. Natahaniel Polnaszek. He listened to, advised and supported Murray as he navigated questions, treatment options and multiple facilities at home and abroad.

In Murray’s eyes, having doctors he could trust made all the difference.

“My doctors helped guide me to the right treatments and took into account my individual concerns,” he said. “I was fortunate to have the support of knowledgeable medical experts who truly wanted the best for me.”
