January can be a great time to give your body a little extra care. Dry January simply means taking a break from alcohol for the month—and many older adults find it comes with some nice benefits.

💙 Why seniors may enjoy Dry January:
• Better sleep and more energy
• Improved balance and hydration
• Support for heart health and digestion
• Clearer thinking and steadier moods

Remember—this isn’t about perfection or pressure. Even reducing alcohol or choosing a few alcohol-free days each week can be beneficial. Always check with your doctor if you take medications or have health concerns.

Here’s to a healthy, cozy, and mindful start to the year 💫

Through collaborative learning - individuals living with dementia can, and do, learn new things. "The explanation...is that the body remembers the movements required even though the ability to talk about it has been lost."
